I'm a bit self conscious about my town...

I'm going to admit something here...

Before I joined this forum, I didn't know what "dreamies" were. I didn't care much how my town looked, or what villagers I had, or what my house looked like.

After being on this forum for a few days, I'm beginning to become a bit self conscious about my town and the villagers within it. Everyone's here with their beautiful towns and their awesome villagers, and I'm here like... "Well I have like 5 blue roses"

I want to make friends and have them come to my town so we can hang out, or post my town up to review threads so they can tell me what to do to make my town better, but I'm so... Self conscious about it! I'm worried they'll say "omg this is awful I hate it worst town ever" or something. ;;

Does anybody else have this problem? I just want the reassurance that I'm not alone in how I feel right now, heh

It's okay! I didn't know either. The grass in my town is really worn, so I feel the same way as you do.

No worries! Most people on here will be nice about reviewing your town. Also, most people would probably give you tips on how to make your town nicer looking, etc and if someone does say your town is horrible, well, they're an *******.

like with all things in life, it's probs best not to care what others think about your town. maybe my opinion won't matter since it could be seen as anther influence, but if you like how your town looks or your villagers, you shouldn't let how others go about things ruin your own experience. there's no need to be dissatisfied with things if that's how you like them, right?

my town is nothing great. I only have 3 blue roses and they're in my closet rn.

anyway, don't be afraid to post in a dream review thread. most of the criticisms are meant to be constructive and helpful! But just bc one person may have an opinion on something, doesn't mean everyone does. Everyone's towns are unique and as long as YOU are happy with it, then that's all that matters. :3

I feel the same, my town is a mess right now. I also don't have enough money to work on it and make it look amazing yet either. However, if you want to post your dream address and ask for comments/reviews, I am certain that any criticism you receive would be constructive, and that you might be given some new ideas or advice to help you out.

I'm in this situation. I have so many ideas for my town, but the PWPs I want aren't unlocked yet, and I'm dirt poor right now. D:

My houses are mostly complete, though not entirely. I have most of the interior items, but I still need to expand. And a LOT of the PWPs that I want haven't been suggested. So there's just a big blank spot in my town with a random fountain and no path to it or flowers there or anything, lol. I also have a lot of items on the ground near re-tail since I'm constantly buying so I can catalog, but I want to sell to make most of my money back. >_>

And honestly, I wouldn't want all towns to be repeats of other towns. Makes visiting dream addresses very boring

However, my goal for my town is to have something that I like to look at. I'm not making it for other people to like. I'm dirt poor, so my house is completely terrible. I have next to no PWP's. I can't buy items off of Re-Tail that I need/want.

But eventually I'll get there, and you will to! Just keep doing whatever you think looks nice and don't fret over what others think of your town. You'll probably happier this way, feeling as if you've completed a personal task.

Most people are really nice when they review towns! I do it myself and I try to be as constructive and nice as possible! (English is, however, a secondary language to me, so it's hard to express myself correctly... I don't want to be mean to anyone )
If I were to review your town, I would comment the nice things and give you ideas for improvements or ask about things I don't really like/don't really get. And I would never comment on villagers, each to his own

But I'm a bit self conscious about my town too. I've seen so many great ones and I really want mine to be one of them ;_; I've been spending hours on my town and a lot of bells, but I still need a lot of PWP's and flowers and there's so much to work on!

If you'd like, I would love to review your town You could tell me what state your town is in - what parts need more work, which parts should I overlook, what are your ideas and visions? I'd love to do it!

<.<' Do you know how OCD I am? One thing in the wrong place will throw me off. Also it doesn't help if I am staring at the same scenery all day. I know where everything is suppose to be and it's boring.

aww. Sweetie. If it's how you play the game, there's no need to be self conscious. c: Everyone has a certain thing they enjoy in the game, like making bells or landscaping, ect. I have many friends who just enjoy conversing with the villagers and do not care about how their town looks and such.

No one can tell you how to play a game. Sooo yeah.

I know how you feel... I took a little break from playing ANCL because I was so worried about what people thought about my town. Now, I think I'll try and make my town more to how I like it, and less about how I think someone will like it.

My town is still ugly and its been like 10 months its filled with junk lol I bet your town is better than mine :~)

If someone says your town is ugly and they hate it then kick them that's not constructive criticism. Most dream town reviewers aren't that cruel enough to say something like that though lol

This is fine! It's just because the game has been out for a long time now! Everyone starts somewhere. I like the forums because people help you make your town awesome too!

I felt that way for a bit, but then I just stopped caring. It's my game, and I'll play how I want, and part of that happens to be making my town look like something Julian threw up. If anyone has a problem with it, well, I can't really blame them, but I like it and that's all that matters because I'm the one who has to look at it everyday. It's still nowhere near perfect because I don't have the right PWPs, but I like what I have right now.
