No one knows for sure. Maybe it does end, maybe it doesn't. Either way, it's out of our control so we shouldn't worry about it. Who knows? It could be the birth of a new race or something.
And as for the whole religion debate, everyone has their own beliefs and their own values, so it's best to respect that and leave it where it is.
