If I scan a Japanese Sanrio card will the villager speak Japanese or English?

Would it somehow get translated to English? The villager's data is part of the update so I would think their text would be English.

It would show it as English or whatever your language on the game is. They aren't region locked so they will just go with your game's settings.

No, it will be to whatever language you set as your default.
