Same with my Shep and the hideous suit of lights.

When he asked how it looked I gave the negative reply and he said he wouldn't wear it.

Two months later he hasn't taken it off so now I have to get rid of him.

I will never do villager requests.
Not ever again.

@SaltedKaramel I heard if you gift them a whole bunch of their default clothes, like several dozen of them, it will sort of clear the unwanted shirt out of their inventory and they won't wear it again. I haven't tested it myself, but that's what I heard.

I've gifted Skye around 5 pieces of clothing. Not really that much but id rather not carelessly give her random clothing as I do care about how they'll look. She alternates them constantly, so while she still has the ugly outfit in her wardrobe the chances of her wearing it is thankfully decreased. Ill probably try to give her some more in this case.

Its just that whenever I see it, I get so annoyed. It can easily be avoided if the negative response actually had an affect because why even have that option in the first place if it doesn't mean anything?

@SaltedKaramel Yeah, try giving her, like, twenty or thirty more of a shirt that you think looks good on her, and that might clear out the shirt you don't like. Five isn't nearly enough, from what I've heard. I wish I could find the thread I was reading that talked about how big a villager's "closet" is, and how many shirts you have to give them before they start getting rid of older ones.

I think we can look at there wardrobe if they have one and it might show there outfits but i dont know how many they have

It is 24 default clothing items to fully reset the wardrobe.
