Ideas for a house theme?

So, here I am, pondering on a theme for my house. I've thought really hard about a theme, but I just can't seem to think of one! So, bell tree members, come and help me decide on what to theme my house around. I Need a theme that I can incorporate into all 5 of my rooms (not counting the basement because that's where I keep all my villager pictures <3).

I'm also thinking about giving a 7-11 set and campus set to the person that comes up with the best idea, since those are the two sets I have in my house right now.

Some fun themes are restaurant: every room is a different type of restaurant, Japanese sushi, chinese dim sum, english cafe, etc.
some people do bath house themed rooms like an onset room, a posh spa room, etc.
you could also go with a series of furniture from new leaf that is your favorite, like if you really like "gorgeous series" you could make the whole house very opulent and posh with the similar color scheme as possible. Goodluck.

It really depends on what you like. I was actually planning on making a hotel at one point. The main room would be the check in area, then each room would have a different theme, but it would be set up like a hotel room. One room was also going to be the golden series, and I was going to put the two crowns in there. It was going to be the room that only super rich people could afford. There was also going to be a rec room and a kitchen. I ended up going with something different, but I still might go back to that idea one day because it lets me use a variety of different furniture series while still having a theme to the house.

You could also do something like a restaurant, a school, I've seen a space station house before... Or maybe you could have different terrains in each room. Like one room could be a field, another could be a desert, forest, etc. The upstairs could be in the sky and you could use the cloud flooring.

I like the idea of making a log cabin lodge/hotel. It would be cozy and a really nice place to stay if it were a real vacation place.

Another idea I really like is possibly making the house like the CLUE game. Each room would be similar to the rooms of CLUE, you wouldn't need to use all the CLUE rooms but instead choose the ones you like best. If you get the mannequins you can even dress them up as some of the characters from the game! Heck, any house that is based on a board game would be cool in my opinion!

You should make a house based upon the Pave and emerald sets. maybe combine them.

I like this thread. I've been trying to think of ideas too.

I'm making a school with a classroom, gym, cafeteria, music/art room, principal's office, and a library.
I'm also making a mall with the main room as like a lobby area with benches and I want to someday save enough to put an ABD in there, but ahaha that's a lot of money. Then I made each room a different kind of store: clothes, home goods, pet store. And a food court upstairs.

Another house I'm making a season house, but I'm not sure exactly what I want to do yet since there are 6 rooms but only 4 seasons. I have a summer, winter, fall, and spring room. I could just stop building at four rooms, but I might use the other two rooms as extras and change them with the current season. Like having the spooky set at halloween, Jingle set at Christmas, etc.

Someday if I'm ever crazy enough to have a third town I want to do a hotel in one house. The main room would be the lobby, the other rooms would be regular hotel rooms (different colors though), and the basement would be a spa room. Another house I would do a restaurant in another with one room as a bakery and another as a hibachi room and maybe the basement as a pub.

I liked the idea of doing a ski lodge too. So cute.

For themed houses, a lot of what I've seen that uses every room have been things like schools, restaurants, and hotels.

It's hard to pull an idea out of nothing, though...do you have any furniture sets or pieces that you particularly enjoy? Using something you like a springboard could be helpful.

A funhouse. Using interactive furniture, maybe gyroids, appropriate music, a room that is reflective to one other, etc.

But the thing is that i want to make is a restaurant/cafe/hotel but I dont have the items in mt catalogue to make it, and I dont have the bells to buy furniture off people. D:

I have two of my houses complete! (you can see them in a dream if you'd like)

The first house is a complete hotel. Main room is the lobby. The left room is Room 1 that has a guest currently in it. The right room is unoccupied Room 2. The back room is the hotel's cafe. The second floor is the Grand Suite, filled with posh and golden items. The basement is the boiler room, slightly dreary and it hides a nasty surprise. ;o

The second house is a movie theater. Main room is the ticket counter, concessions, arcade section complete with movie posters. The 3 bottom rooms are the theaters, one move is a chick flick, one is a western and the other is an undersea movie. I have no basement on this house and the second floor is used as "storage" of old popcorn machines and old movie projectors.

My first house I have set up like a food/restaurant themed

First floor main room is the bakery (I use the sweets series mostly) but I have a lot of unorderables that I blew millions of bells on D; Like afternoon tea set, pumpkin pie, tteok plate, chocolate cakes x__x Basically, just sweets.
First floor right room is the "classier"/"fancier" restaurant themed. I have the lazy-susan table, ceramic hot pots, hot plates, samyetang (however you spell it) and other more like "cooked" items.
First floor left room is the convenience store. I have the 711 set in there. So basically lots of "display" items, and shopping carts. More miscellaneous things that I didn't know where else to put xD Oh and I have a large magazine rack (so really like convenience store looking stuff)
First floor back room is the kitchen. I tried to make it basically be the kitchen for the rest of the first floor rooms (like baking cakes for bakery, cooking up dishes for the restaurant and like being stocked with stuff for the convenience store). I have a kitchen island in there and just lots of kitchen related stuff ya know? (Refrigerator, stoves, sinks, etc.)
Basement is the "public" bathroom. (Which you could make it your top floor since you have your villagers in the basement). I've got mermaid furniture there, 3 super toilets, 3 men's toilets, separated by screens. and 4 bathroom sinks. And just lot of aquatic furniture pieces (Merlion, Menneken Pis, Mermaid Statue, Aquarius Urn).

I haven't decided what the top floor is going to be yet, but I'm thinking of either a "club" or possibly a spa/sauna. It's currently filled with princess series (made to be a bedroom) and all blue/white colored theme...kind of giving off an "angelic" vibe.

It's all still a work in progress between moving out all the old furniture and rearranging everything, but so far it's coming along pretty well >.< I hope to get it done by this weekend and update the dream address cause my town looks like utter crap right now xD

I just visited your dream town, and there is one word I have to say. Wow. I loved how you made the sets for the movies in the theater house. The hotel was really cool, too. I liked the dead body in the boiler room . Other than that, I was surprised to see all the gracie furniture you had. You must be a billionare..
