Ideas/Features you want for a next Animal Crossing game?

Well, besides the obvious you move here, and your leaving my town now gettout! :D
I want to be able to:
|Screenshot my town map without Mii verse
|Wear like a back pack for more inventory
|More villagers and a bigger town.
Reason: I think my town is like small honestly.
|Like pick what kind of place your town is! Like, maybe in a jungle surrounding or always winter in Alaska.
Reason: Not everyplace on earth looks the same at the same time. :D Like more Life-Like in that sense?
|Skin tone option
Reason: I'm usually pretty tan and that doesn't work for me in game because who has time to sit in the water for 30 minutes every day to keep a tan?
|More unicorns and Octopi ( A little off topic, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut still XD )
|More PWPS and raise the limit to at least 60 if there's a bigger town.
|Have more then 3 visitors at once
|Long hair design
|Able to design socks
Reason: I don't see pants happening with all those dirty minded people out there XD
That's all I can think of right now, but I'll add to it later :D

I would really appreciate if the NPC's had more background story. I'm not asking for Animal Crossing to have a story, because that would actually ruin the charm of the game, but it would be nice to hear about their experiences. The older games did this, but I'd like it to have an even larger extent. Especially for the newer players who know nothing about them.

Some new villager species would be nice as always. I think Bat, Owl, Skunk, Raccoon, and Fox villagers would be adorable.

Morning aerobics, more interactive events, international holidays, downloadable dialogue, usable project works other than the benches, SKIN COLOUR OPTIONS PLEASE, having the power as the mayor to choose villager plots, more villager conversations between each other, and perhaps more areas like a cavern or different terrain... The list goes on. I would give up about a good year of my life to work on a new game for the series. Hire me, Nintendo.

I'd love to see more realistic actions for the villagers. Imagine seeing your jock villager jogging all around town in the morning with a sweat animation and he takes a second to catch his breath. Several different actions for every personality that are randomly triggered. That would bring a lot more character to the game and it wouldn't be too jarring for the series. I feel that the team that works on the series is often too afraid of stepping outside of the box. Both the Wii U and 3DS can handle a lot of memory, so it's not huge stretch.

Platypus villagers
Yoshi villagers
A villager based on Doreen Green/Squirrel Girl
A blue octopus name Ami
Fire based furniture set
Lightning based furniture set
More Lions
More Gorillas
T-Rex villagers
Shark villagers
Bat villagers

One thing I want added is for the player to be able to ask the villagers questions instead of the simple:
"I wanted to talk"
or
"Just saying hi"

Two options is not enough interaction between the villagers and me. It makes the game feel like a game and I never really get attached to the villagers. The questions could be simple and each villager could have individual responses making the game more diverse.

Many more personalities with much more dialog. More money-making opportunities, like maybe cooking/farming. Many more plants, indoor and out.

More frequent campers. <_<

Bigger shops would be great too. I was disappointed that the number of furniture items at the department store never changed.

I honestly don't ever see them adding those first two on your list in because ones from another game and the other needs to be in a lot of water.

Yeah, but with the Farming it would be more like Harvest Moon and I don't want it to turn in that direction honestly. :(

More dialogue from the villagers, ability to choose where the villagers move, more PWP pings, visits to mom and dad would be adorbs ^o^ always something I've wanted in the 8 years I've been playing. >o<

Unrelated Note:
Have you tried the diving trick? I'm sure you can find a good guide online somewhere to teach you how. :D It works wonders! Takes a while sometimes but worth it!
Related Note:
Visits to Mom/Dad would be awesome. But would difficult to make happen because most of the time the parents look at least semi like their child/children and they'd have to look related. But sounds possible. Maybe just have a "Design your family option where you can describe your parents and make them characters and your character. That would be a good way to incorporate the skin tone option too.

Honestly, I think the games are definitely getting better, but I still really want more storage space and more frequent PWP pings! I feel like I always have too much stuff and my town feels under developed because I don't get enough PWP pings :[

What I haven't read yet in this topic, but I'm pretty sure you'll agree with me:

I would also like to add a separate bag for your tools >_< Just taking the axe, shovel, rod, etc with me already fills up 1/3 of the bag space.

That is a great idea! I would love that too - I am always putting my tools in my letters like gifts so that I have more space in my pockets but it always sucks when I need one and I have to go get it out XD

I also agree with more dialogue options/variations with villagers (maybe even some unique dialogue for particular villagers, even if it's just one or two things one villager will say that another of the same type won't) as well as villager zoning. I don't see why the former can't at least be added as DLC.

I also agree with more customization of the mayor/playable character, more events, and different terrain (villages based in a desert, a swamp, a jungle, lagoon, forest, etc).

Other things...welp, it's more of what I'd like taken OUT of the game, with a couple things to add:

-Get rid of the Void
Seriously, when has this been a good thing? I don't want someone's voided villager if I have less than 10 villagers in my town!

-Get rid of the 16 villager cycle if you accidentally lose a villager
I've still got another 12 villagers to move out before I can get Purrl (who never pinged me to tell me she was moving, but was fine pinging me to ask for fish or to deliver something) back in. I've been trying to get a 5th out for the past day and a half, nearly 2 days.
I don't know what the point of the 16 villager cycle is in the game, except that it's as annoying as ****

-Allow the player to talk a boxed villager into staying
Again, Purrl never told me she was moving, and nobody else said a word, either. I only found out when I loaded up the game and Isabelle told me she was moving out.

-More things to do with the beach
Cause really, all that can be done is planting flowers and trees on it, or laying down patterns...or just scattering items or seashells everywhere. It'd be really cool if a player can put their house on the beach, or there are beach-specific PWPs.

-Ability to design pants/shorts
Self-explanatory.

-A different way of catching fish
The only challenge is the timing of hooking the fish. Once you hooked it, you'll automatically reel it in. Frankly, fishing is quite boring, especially once you've caught every seasonal fish available. I'd love to see a minigame with fishing similar to fishing games like Fishing Resort...or at least close to what either Mabinogi or Fantasy Life has.

-More minigames/quests
Sure, you can play minigames on the island, but they're the same things: fishing, bug catching, diving, searching, or digging. Yes, the memory game adds some variation, and there are difficulty levels, but I'd like to see minigames besides events/holidays or the random hide-and-seek game in the town itself.
Some bigger and better quests besides "can you deliver this package to that villager" or "I want a river fish", or the famous "get me some fruit" would be nice.

-A different way to unlock PWPs
Because it's frustrating when you're two PWPs away from completing the look of your town, and the only thing your villagers want of you are mundane errands or new catchphrases (even with the diving trick).

-Haggling with villagers
I know there are times when you can get an item's price lowered for something the villager is trying to sell you after pinging you, but that only seems to apply if your friendship is high enough. However, I haven't really seen any option to haggle if they want to buy something I'm carrying. If they're ripping me off (offering a lower price than I'd get just selling it at a fourth of its value at Re-Tail), I want to jack up the price, not cancel the transaction completely.

-Starting out with only one or two villagers and next to nothing, and having to build up the village from scratch.
Many of the Harvest Moon games do this (I'm talking HM before Natsume went solo), and I'd love to see some HM elements in AC. Maybe I don't want to be the mayor, but instead be a farmer or a citizen!

Heck, I'd love an AC/HM crossover game. Why not? Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton got a crossover game, so why not Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon?
Or a fantasy Animal Crossing game! Hey, Rune Factory was a huge hit, so how about a fantasy Animal Crossing where you can go out and battle monsters...or, maybe even a version where you have your own shop and don't have to rely on Re-Tail!

Villager house placement control- To make you still have to work for it, I think that should be a window at about 6-7 am where if you go on, you can look around and talk to the villager moving in, then they can ask you where you think their house should go and you can put it where you like! Then if you don't do that, they can move in to a random spot.
A Grass wear toggle!- I HATE the look of the grass wear and unfortunately, I didn't realise it wore down when you ran! Therefore when I started I ran all over the place and my town got reaaal ugly! Now it's completely covered in flowers so I don't have to see it :/
Less repeated quotes by villagers- I only need to hear to 'Press left on the arrow pad to quick change tools' once. Unfortunately I get it about one a week -.- Just stahp!
A different way of swimming- This is probably my fault but I'm sooooo slow at swimming, therefore deep sea diving for crabs etc. takes me all day long! And they ALWAYS move out of bound just as I'm about to catch them. So annoying.
More tasks from villagers- That aren't just 'go deliver this to another person'. It just gets annoying! I love burying time capsules and getting siggys! We need more interesting tasks!
Removing shop assistants greetings- I go into Re-Tail at least 5 times a day! Stop the long dialogues and just let me sell my junk!! I'm so fed up of it, I put a recycling bin right next to re-tail so I can just re-cycle unimportant stuff instead -.-
Lastly! More USABLE DLC for everyone. I think this important for the people like me who live in places where DLC on it's own is rare and most of what we do get is ugly/ big/ impractical. I want to be able to get the cute Japanese DLC without paying an arm and a leg on forums for it! Why should they be able to make a huge profit on something they got for free?

(Okay, I'll stop now...)

- - - Post Merge - - -

I also second pretty much everything that the guy above posted!
Forgot to say we need more minigames in town.. I can't be bothered to travel to the island everyday and I want to play with MY villagers!

I also agree with more dialogue options/variations with villagers (maybe even some unique dialogue for particular villagers, even if it's just one or two things one villager will say that another of the same type won't) as well as villager zoning.
You have some good points! But about the cross over part it would be animal crossing that looks like Harvest Moon with farming. :p That's just me.
And with the pants, they didn't add those because of the dirty people out there :3

omg i agree with all these lol AC/HM crossover would sound so cool! both are part of my favorite games!

Well we have Octopi villgers and hippos.

That's true. But it just seems weird. Like they are just a villager I don't think you should see around town. I just don't like the idea of them in animal crossing.

I just think it would be weird with their tail and everything. Like they lay huge eggs don't they?

I don't know if this is really possible but it would be quite cool if they could implement a way to make seasonal things change price throughout the year?
So, for example, bus that are only available in the summer will be sold less in the summer but if you hold onto them etc. they'll sell for more in the winter!
It might take a lot of doing but it would be quite cool... The same could go for furnitre, so harvest/ mush stuff would sell for less right now but in Summer it would sell for more!
It's make the game feel more realistic I think...
