Idea: Hourly Soundtrack rotation

Imagine if you could switch out your hourly music for the music of old Animal Crossing games. Hearing my favorite songs in the new game would drastically improve my experience. Thoughts?

I'd like to have a whole new soundtrack and would probably stick to that to keep the experience totally fresh, but updated versions of old tracks returning would be awesome if you could choose which ones you wanted for each hour too. Maybe after a few weeks in.

I like this idea! I would love if they added a new soundtrack to keep with the tradition but I would also love if you could switch the music for old AC game music like gamecube (my favorite)

I mean I know totaka's music is infinitely superior, but I'd still like to give the new stuff a chance if he isn't the main composer once again

Ooh it might be nice to have a randomiser! And I have also wanted the option to turn off the bgm too. If there are a bunch of nice atmospheric sound effects it'd be so nice.

oh I meant turn off individual tracks, so like the randomizer can only choose between 6am cube crossing and new leaf, 7am all versions, 8am cube crossing, city folk, and switch, etc. though I suppose a full shutdown would be an option too


though thinking, let's take the randomizer a slight step further. do like smash does now with the music probability sliders

I can see where you're coming from, but hundreds of hours of playing the same game with the same soundtrack - why not add variety if it is there? Maybe you could even unlock the soundtracks as items or something.

Because they would totally make them unlockable and I would have to unlock them all. Even the ****ty ones.

You do have a point though. I disliked a good chunk of the NL music because it was too island-music-soundy at parts.
