Ice Themed Rooms

I'm thinking of making my basement ice themed. I think it would go good with the winter theme I have going on. I just want there to be a reason that this room exists. Can you think of any type of large room that would require such a large amount of cooling? If it helps, my town is supposed to be famous for being a hub of robotics and technology. I'm thinking that the room was once used for a specific function before being renovated into my ice room.

I was going to say a cryogenic chamber too!!

As a lover of science and engineering I love that your town has a robotic/tech theme to it! One of my alt's houses is the modern style house with the robo exterior then on the inside it's very space/tech/robo kinda theme. I wanted to 0design it with SpaceX in mind.

My basement has has the ice wall, floor, and lamp.

My town is based on Game of Thrones, and my house interior, on Castle Black.

The basement being the entrance, or exit, to Castle Black.

I have wood plank tables with stewpots and bread baskets.

A Hunter's Cart, barrels and kegs, a campfire and firewood.

I have two mannequins dressed in silver armor, and knight's helmets, guarding the rear of the room which has jail bars. (In front of what would be the entrance.)

Hmm, maybe there was some disaster and everyone in there was irreparably damaged. Perhaps it could be a dark secret to an otherwise happy town. I also want there to be sort of a haunted theme to the town. I was thinking dead sailors but this could work too.

Yep look no further than the famous post nuclear apocalyptic rpg series Fallout. In this case fallout 4 where your the only survior of a vault that did an experiment the people in it disguising their ruse as a safe place to get away from the atomic blast that leaves boston nothing more than a wastlandof theives anf mutated creatures.
