I wish maps were randomly generated again.

I miss being able to play with a completely randomly generated town map and not knowing the layout beforehand and actually having to explore and find my buildings like in ACWW, I'm in the process of trying to restart my town but all the layouts so far have either have the beach on the left hand side which I hate OR too many ponds (I like having one).

Its about 12:10Pm here in the UK, so lunchtime but I have been awake since 8am trying with rover to find a decent layout GAH I feel like yelling at him like resetti! I miss random maps.

I kind of wish we got to pick from all the maps at the beginning like a sliding roll of them . I didn't have too many specifications for my towns though, just that i wanted apples, cherries and peaches which I have and after foolishly not taking time to pick a map on my main town (although it turned out well in the end) I wanted a small river and maybe one pond in my second, which I have. My cycle town had the plaza where I wanted it as well and that did take a few attempts.

Good luck getting everything how you want it, I know it's frustrating but it's worth it when your town is finished :3.

I actually love that you get a choice of maps in NL. I remember my first WW town I lucked out (I really didn't know what I was doing) with my map but on my 2nd town I couldn't play it for more than 15 minutes - the layout was so awful!

You'll get there and your new town will be all the more sweeter for the fact you waited so long for it.

I found the random Wild World maps equally frustrating. I restarted my WW town almost 2 weeks ago and I kept starting over until I found one I liked. I was lucky that it only took about six tries. New Leaf sometimes takes a day or so of off-and-on searching. I have certain requirements because I'm determined to stick with it once I find my perfect map. I really hope the next restart will be my final one. I think I can stick with it if I take it slow this time. My problem is I always rush to get things done and then the fun factor isn't there. I'm sure you're sick of Rover, but you'll get there!

I like that we get to have a say in what the town looks like. But I HATE that there's nothing we can do about the rocks. One rock made it impossible for me to put a bench near my water fountain and garden.

Yeah, I hate rocks. It's a shame you can't see where they are when you're looking at the map choices.

There is a way to get a random map. Cover over the screen when it gets to the part that Rover asks where your town is and choose the first one. Of course, you'll still get a map right away from Isabelle, so you'll know where ReTail, etc is without wandering over to it. But that's a way to get a truly random map.

My town is pretty random, I have 2 ponds and beaches on the bottom and right hand side, and I also placed my pwp in odd spots but I think I'll keep my town as I'm not willing to restarrttt...

I did seriously consider doing that but then I thought no point cos if I arrive and don't like the layout I will only restart again lol
