I want Erik to change clothes >:( ~

Hi!

I was hoping someone could give me a good way of influencing/changing the clothes of my villagers? I just got Erik from a cycler, and even though I'm super happy, he's wearing some ugly chef's shirt. ._.

I have his original sweater in my inventory and would love to be able to give it to him so he could wear it - is this possible?

I'm very grateful for any help!

This may be a complete coincidence but for me I seem to have better luck getting a villager to wear clothes if they happen to be in their house (it works outside their house sometimes but they often use it as furniture) and then just talking to them over and over until they ask to buy it. Emptying your inventory of everything else including bells helps eliminate the possibility of asking for something else or trying to sell you stuff.

Order four plus of them from the nook catalogue and mail them to him, he'll be wearing it the next day . I've had to do this with Mira and Rosie to keep them in their original shirts, sending a few copies makes them wear it.

I think I read somewhere that if you keep sending it to them in the mail they will eventually put it on.

In my town right now, Erik and Tabby are in matching shirts. So are Friga and Marina. So are Phoebe and Marshal. I keep sending them clothes so they'll change! LOL

(Boone was also wearing the same shirt as Phoebe and Marshal, but I finally got him to change.)

I think my only issue with mailing animals clothing is that sometimes they put it on display in their homes instead, and then dump their nice furniture >_< Then you have to mail the furniture back to them as well! LOL

Really? Wow, I hope they fix this for the next AC game. Maybe with an option like ''Check this out!'' or ''You should wear this!''. That whould be nice, I think.

Ikr like everyone in my town has a Someone from Anytown design -_- either that Ducky Shirt (Sprinkle's wearing it and it is so stretched over her belly lol) or the T-Shirt. Chevre had the Shirt on for a while and it was like blending in with her it looked like 3 random buttons on her belly

Hahaha excactly, I'm having the same problem. I crack up everytime they talk about it though - ''That Someone from Anytown is really going somewhere!'' They're not even that pretty!

Exactly it's like i send you pretty shirts but you would rather wear a shirt with a duck on it..okay :C

Yeah the villagers can't change their hats, some just have hats by default forever... Maybe their hats are superglued on lol.

here's what I do to make sure my villagers always wear what I want them to...
I order about 3 of wanted shirt, write three letters to the same villager, put the shirts in the letters and send them...
one down point is that the extra shirts will probably get displayed in the villager's house...

Yes, but they end up wearing a hideously plain gym t-shirt. I did that to Naomi and she wore it for ages until I was able to get 5 Groovy tees to send to her all at once (sending them multiple shirts in one go is the best way to get them to change, I love it).

I'll give this a go next time Tammi is in her house. If it works, it'd be a lot simpler (and cheaper!) than getting multiples of the same shirt to send in the mail, lol.
