I voided Lily For Olivia here's why

So lately..I started to dislike Lily. Her design is flawless and cute but her personality is so..borin. So I got my dreamie Oliva. I love Oliva loved her since new leaf..sometimes I gotta sacrifice a cutie for a cuter cutie. ♡

I could understand that. Lily is super cute but Olivia is also pretty cool. Sometimes I will give up ones I like for other ones I like lol.

I really like normals in this game. I had two uchis but now I have two normals which makes my town feel a bit more relaxed.

Something about Lily's personality just made feel bored every time I talked to her. Maybe my extroversion clashed horribly with her introversion. However, I find Olivia gorgeous despite what mean things my sister says! She's my dreamie and I can already tell i'll love her. ♡

She was one of my forced villagers, and I didn't want to replace her, but I really wanted Daisy and had bought her amiibo card.

I still miss Lily though.
I had her in one of my old WW towns years ago.

You know, a lot of the normal villager dialogues are very plain and I can see why you got rid of Lily. My old island used to be EIGHT NORMAL VILLAGERS, one peppy, and one snooty. Can you imagine the DIYs I had that were duplicates? Omfg

I honestly think New Horizons didn't do a good job on normal villagers. Their personalities do seem a bit bland which is really sad because I love normal villagers. I remember them being much more fun in New Leaf. I hope there will be an update where villagers get to say different things and interact with our items more like if we had a pool, they will go inside the pool and swim I got so off topic LOL. Grats on finding Olivia. She is as cute as Lily!

Well, to be fair, ALL normals are quite boring but I get that even though villagers of the same personality are basically copy-paste versions of one another, we can form more of a connection with certain ones (for example, I tried to love Octavian but just couldn't but I love Boyd who is also cranky).
Having said this, I wouldn't want to miss any personality type on my Island. I think having all the different ones makes the Island feel more "complete" and less boring if that makes sense; there are also some fun villager interactions here and there and I like listening in on their conversations plus you get to unlock the different reactions through the villagers of various personalities.
I'm currently missing a jock and want one badly.

Lily is so cute though! But I understand this totally, I debated not having a normal villager on my island at all! They just seem a bit too nice if that makes any sense! I would also prefer if they weren't portrayed as having low self esteem as they have no reason to be

Lol just kidding, I personally wouldn't trade Lily for anyone as she is my favorite villager but of course not everyone has the same love for the same villagers so I'm happy you found someone you liked better than Lily! Tbh I don't mind the normal personality as most of the villagers I like design wise are normals but I do agree that the personality could be way more better than that, hope they do improve them later on so that they'll appeal to more people as they are being overshadowed by other more interesting personalities...

Hey, that's totally fair - an extra snooty is more interesting than an extra normal! My ideal island would have both Lily and Olivia, and I probably wouldn't have any other Normal villagers in addition to her.

Not a bad move at all Olivia is amazing while Lily is indeed not the most interesting. I'm sure there are plenty of people who click with her, though.

Because she has a normal personality. That alone is a big turnoff to some players. (Honestly, I still prefer villagers being boring rather than being ridiculed by those smug villagers. But this more of like a personal preference.)

Here's another example of mine. I dislike Audie because she's being too much of a jock than peppy. (This is more of another case for me.)

I am also a big fan of Pekoe. She's my resident since New Leaf days. (She has a normal personality too!) I am happy to reunite with her in New Horizons. Seriously, each people have different tastes and preferences. Feel free to explore other villager types if you are adventurous!

There are so many cute normals (I, myself have two) but they’re really really boring so I get where you’re coming from. I also change my mind on and off about them because I really find them boring.

My original lineup had 2 normals - Fauna and Tia. I adore Fauna and she fits my island theme so when I started getting tired of the normals I tried replacing Tia with Merengue since she's really cute too but I ended up avoiding her within a few days of moving in cause the dialogue was so bland. Now I have an extra snooty instead (Tasha!) and I wouldn't have it any other way
