Well, if you take a look at Plucky's bio when entering in her RV. It says:

"There's nothing Plucky loves
more than lying out on a
tropical beach and sipping on
a coconut. Just don't call it
"roasting," OK?"

Roasting. Roasting. ROASTING!!! And that's a YouTube trend.

EDIT: I didn't know it was a joke about chicken roasting. I thought it was about internet roasting. However, what i'm referring to is the internet one.

I think it was a joke that was more geared towards the fact that Plucky is a chicken.
Since chickens are often cooked- or "roasted"- she may get nervous when you mention it is roasting, as in you are saying it is too warm on the "tropical beach".
That may just be me though.
It would be funny if Nintendo started interpreting Internet memes! Well, either that or just plain annoying. Either works ^_^

That works too. But lets just imply it to "internet roasting" due to us being used to internet comedy instead of "that"...

Hm? I'm pretty sure it wasn't a referral to the Internet term of roasting, it just doesn't make any sense in relation to the rest of the paragraph, but if you'd prefer to interpret it that way it's cool ^_^ I was just explaining the actual meaning lol! I personally found it quite funny. (Although I gotta feel bad for the poor chickens in town)

You're interpreting it wrong lol. It's supposed to be a pun about the chicken sitting in the heat and roasting. Fortunately, it has nothing to do with Youtube Roasting; it isn't even remotely related to anything internet/confrontational so...

Thread solved. Please close.

For the love of god look at the US Splatoon's final boss dialogue. (☉‿☉✿) It's likely the cringiest thing you'll see Nintendo ever regurgitate relating to internet memes lol.

There was actually a large discussion about this specific topic on reddit; summarising that people don't want to see recent internet culture incorporated into games because in a few years time they'll probably have become an embarrassing thing that nobody speaks about anymore (look at YOLO), plus it would only confuse people who weren't up to date with the latest kidz intern3t sl4ngz happinin d33z daYz.

edit:

more smileys (▰˘◡˘▰)

I don't believe they wanted to start a thread war, we just wanted make sure you know the actual meaning and that you didn't misinterpret it. This thread could be closed if you want to since there isn't really anything else to say on the matter, but I hope you have no hard feelings! We were only trying to help <3 Have a nice day!

I suppose I could get this closed before any shenanigans happen. I really don't know how on this board.

LOL, this thread made my day, it actually took me like 5 minutes to get the joke xd

Lol true! Let's keep Animal Crossing a respectable game, no? It would be super embarrassing if they added in some dead meme like dabbing or Harambe or whatever into AC, or any game for that matter. Internet comedy and actual jokes should be kept well away from each other. I don't mean to start an argument though!
