With customizing furniture. Even though I had this game for over a year, I've never customized furniture before today because I thought you could only do it with ores and gemstones. Then I found out you can do it without that stuff, and I just love it. I got my Modern Wood sofa customized to the simple design and I freaking LOVE IT. Why isn't that ever posted online?! I'm redoing my bed, closet, and stained glass as well.
What about you guys? Do you customize a lot of furniture or prefer the original designs? If you have a favorite customization, what is it?

I thought you could only do it with gems for the longest time too! Guides need to make that more clear. I like finding out new things to customize. My current refurb job is a pickle jar haha, you can change the kinds of veggies in it!

I customized the alpine series with a nautical pattern QR and made a marine-type room for my mayors house. It looks fantastic and it was worth the time it took for sure.

I'm surprised you weren't aware of this feature... Surely you've gone to dream towns and recognised furniture sets that were a different colour? Or seen the giant clam music boxes? Many of the most popular dream towns have cushions customised with custom patterns to make them look like food dishes, etc.

Oh, and I also found out you can customize the freaking lunch tray today. Cyrus said he'll change the foods displayed on the tray for you. How cool is that?!

I think customizing the stew in the stewpot is cool, I also like the soft-serve lamp is cool with different ice cream flavors. Exotic set looks great black and red. I customize stuff now and then.

I never thought it was possible at all xD I just remember going into streetpass houses and seeing sets in all different colours, then looking up all the combinations online :O

customnewleaf is how I found out you can make the kiddie furniture obnoxiously bright, so then I was like "OH MAN I NEED KIDDIE FURNITURE"
it's amazing how many options there are and how much you can change stuff up just by customizing furniture.

I made a set that consists of gem-refurbished furniture with the cloth parts replaced with a galaxy pattern. It looks really cool. Definitely proud of the way it turned out! Furniture customization was one of the very best new additions to this game tbh

I love to refurbish too. I recently made a rubber ducky bathroom, Superman room, Italian Pizza parlor, and Denver Broncos room. You can make rooms really unique when you refurbish.

I didn't know you could change the soft-serve lamp! I need to try it out. I always keep forgetting about items like that.

I was about to come on here to suggest the same blog, I love customizing my stuff and have customized everything I could to pink for my pink house! (There are a lot of things you can make pink by the way) I am actually going to make a little furniture shop in my "mall" house so I can showcase like different pieces of furniture in all the different colors/designs. I usually have a queue of furniture waiting in front of my retail in a little area so I can remember to go back and do as many as I can. I'm still working on turning everything pink, but after that I am going to just do stuff randomly to get my customizer badge. That blog is super helpful if you're wondering if and how things can be customized, I really love using the clothes for customizing, especially the bears cause they'll wear the shirt you give them so you can have a family of bear in matching shirts that match you even! Too cute!
