I Seriously Hope They Fix Pascal

I'm about to just give up on this otter. Whenever he does show up, I mostly get pearls. When he doesn't show up for the scallop the first time, I don't feel like bothering with trying to find another after spending who knows how long looking for the first one for the day.

Yeah aside from getting my first scallop and mermaid DIY recipe, I haven't really bothered with any underwater diving around my island. Even though it was my first day with diving so I probably wasn't being very efficient, it still took way too long to get even a scallop and have the chance to get pascal to appear. I don't really like the mermaid set either since it's just not really my thing (seems to be more centered around cutesy/pastel areas), so I don't have much motivation to actually grind it out and try to get more pearls/DIY recipes in the first place.

Once I get all the DIYs, I'm most definitely done with him. Maybe eventually I'll go for the max Nook Miles, but agreed, just not worth it with the amount of pearls he gives you. Love his speech though!

On the flip side, I like him. I've gotten all the recipes, plenty of pearls, and am only missing the tiara (I have one, but paid TBTs to get it). I thought I'd be done diving for scallops until new creatures show up, but nope, I'm out there every day with both of my profiles. It is frustrating that he doesn't always show up after finding the first scallop, but it's never taken more than three.

It also helps knowing the bubble pattern of the scallop. Not sure if it's on YouTube, but if you see a steady stream of bubbles that slightly oscillate from side to side, looking as though two bubbles are coming up right after the other, chances are you've found a scallop.

I don't plan on buying DIYs or Mermaid furniture because of some glitch that happens to where Pascal doesn't give you DIYs anymore because he thinks you have already created it. I don't know if they fixed that glitch or not. I usually just swim up to the bubbles and if I see no activity of the thing below trying to escape, I don't bother with it. But I've been seeing a lot of things trying to escape, and it's gotten to the point that if the shadow is small, I don't bother trying to grab it because scallops have bigger shadows.

Four players and only one has worked right. Main island Player has got 11 DIY recipes, all the clothing and some pearls. No repeats.
Main player on the other island has 5 DIY recipes and 2 of those are repeats, 2 clothing and lots of pearls. Other players have 3 to 4 repeats DIY recipes and tons of pearls.
Once I get the recipe I stop diving.

Yeah I still do him daily on 4 different guys. It doesn't take as long now especially since I know what scallop shadows to look for. It is frustrating though as I still dont have all the recipes and I do it almost every day...lol

After getting pearls for the 3rd day in a row on my account and my boyfriend's (he doesn't really play anymore, he mostly bought it for me as an anniversary present) I scoured Twitter and the boards here and between those 3 sweet people I was finally able to complete the mermaid set and collect the dresses and high heels

So far, every time I catch a scallop for that particular day, Pascal shows up. But yeah, I only got a couple of diy recipes and at least three pearls from him. Personally, I’m not bothered that I don’t have all the diy recipes right now unless they’re seasonal somehow? Though I don’t see why that should be the case if Pascal appears all-year round and still decides to give you one.

I appreciate that. They don't normally take long most days. Today it was like they didn't exist.
