Yes this is what i'm afraid of as well DD: If you're breeding for hybrids I would try to keep your plants near objects that villagers cannot move close to. Like the train station or retail. I wish we could put them in wide open spaces but..it's just too risky. :/

I put my rare flowers near buildings. The houses cannot go any closer than two spaces from another building (or the pavement around town hall). This gives me about two spaces wide that I can put them and then I do not have to worry about them.

I breed my Hybrids on the beach. No one can move there, and there is enough space. Really handy.

Nope, it's actually WAY worse because you want them to stick around!

That's what I do. I plant my hybrids near PWPs, Re-Tail, the cafe, the bridge, rocks, and homes of villagers who are staying forever. (Heh.)
