I QUIT

This is probably one of the best screenshots I've seen xD You're practically paralyzed on the ground and Fang is just looking at you like, "Meh, I'm sure he'll be fine" *shrugs.

Yeah! He just pinged me too...
Ffs fang... You really like to make me suffer. Luckliy I stopped him. He just let me fall onto the ground...

Oh man I feel the pain. I only have 2 more weeks for the tarantula. So far I've encountered 2 and neither time has it ended well.

Luckily I caught the tarantula. I think it was my first week xD. But still ARGH.
And it's even more of a pain to us who don't TT/ get some from other towns.

I seem to have at least 3 scorpions a night. If you're having trouble with them spawning you are welcome to come to my town.

Ah thanks for the offer, but I'm part of AC:HC (hard core). I have to get all badges myself, and I'm not allowed to get bugs/anything from other towns except from villigers.

I don't TT either. I understand your frustration though. I've been waiting ten days for Club LOL to open and I've almost TT'd once or twice. But when you wait and do it on your own it is more exciting. :lemon:

Yeah. It's going to get harder though :/. I have club lol and stuff, just waiting for T.I.Y to open.

I just started a new town because I wasn't happy with my old one, and the biggest reason I didn't do it earlier was because I thought catching all the fish and bugs again would take an age.

NOPE.

On my first night, FIRST GOSH DERN NIGHT, I caught a tarantula. To be fair I was looking for it (in this new town everytime I start to look for something I get it the night I start looking for it. examples: tarantula, scorpion, saddled bichir, etc.) but I was so giddy because it took my first town a year. Anyways, 3 days later I see a scorpion as I come out of Re-Tail. My first instinct was set to *GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE* but then I thought "actuallllly", but when I turned around it disintegrated into thin air. Wanting to solve this mystery of the scorpion (a.k.a. now that i saw a scorpion I MUST HAVE ONE FOR MY OWN) and also thinking "hey that tarantula was nice I think I'll get a scorpion so they can be 'rasslin buddies (don't ask)".

Three hours later I'm just half-assedly running around town with a net and saving & continuing every lap of the town I do, ready to give up when I hear a scratching sound by the cliff. I immediately think "WHAT" and go in the complete wrong direction the scorpion was in. Luckily when I got back I spot the scorpion gazing at the open sea and standing dangerously close to the edge. "DON'T DO IT" I say and move in to direct my good buddy scorpion back to safety with my net. It hisses so I immediately swipe and catch it.

What was the point of this post you may ask? Well it's to tell you (not only how lucky I am...) to never give up! I can't begin to tell you how bored I was searching for three hours but I didn't stop until I got a scorpion. To be honest though you probably spend way more than three hours looking for a scorpion and alls this post did for you was make you annoyed at me for rubbing it in your face. Oh well, just some words of encouragement, don't give up! The month is only halfway, just keep going!

Ahh. Thanks, you are lucky xD.
I have been trying to get this Scopian forever. Now I'm trying to get other bugs for August. I got all my summer fish. Now just the bugs.

Personally, I've never found an issue with the number of trees and flowers having any effect on catching tarantulas/scorpions (I'm not even sure if this is just a theory or an actual fact) but just keep trying! And honestly, I find staying still and not wandering around is just as effective if you're actively looking around. Persistence is key with these bugs, so just as long as you're trying I'm sure you'll fine one in no time ^-^

Even if you could get something from another town

tarantulas and scorpions do not show up over wifi, just like walking leafs, bees, and idk what else.

But heres something for me to throw into the thread:
I have already caught both for my museum, but my heart still skips a beat when I see one of those lil critters come out of my flower beds and scare the living crap out of me.
I reach for my net, but realize its in my letters,
but then I remember I have no reason to catch them (no need for the bells)

Hey slammint, for your challenge are you allowed to go to anyones town at all? Like just to hang out?
Or is that a no go too? (Just curious, i have no patience for those challenges)

Yup I can go, to trade villigers. But I'm not allowed to get anything like fruit, or flowers. Nothing.
But it's cool to chill and stuff. XD.

I'm 3 for 3 this summer of getting stung by those things here, there are others with scorpion troubles. After you catch the bugs that want to bite you it's fun to go up to villagers and see what they have to say when I'm being chased by bees and tarantulas, maybe that's why I'm under the no scorpion curse?

Summer 2013 I spent a lot of time on the ground from both bugs and got none.
Summer 2014 my guest town mayor figured out how to catch them. My other two mayors caught both and 2 side player caught the tarantula.
Summer 2015 all side players and my new towns players caught both bugs. The newest town was the easiest place to catch them.
It was only a month old and just had a few PWP. The only one that had problems was Sally in my guest town. The scorpion and tarantula were horrible to her. They jumped over the cliff and into the water a lot. Also she got taken out by them.

Finally figure out that good lucky on items is one of the best days to get one of those bugs. Just wear the right clothing or that funny hat.
I did remove some of my hybrids to make some opened spots in my town. I have another 3DS so I can dream my town and put it back the way it was.
Note scorpions like to hide in red flowers. So I removed them.

My main town was back the same way in a short period of time. Player 2 found a tarantula and put it in her house. Teddy freaked out a scorpion and it tried to walk up the wooden bridge. It couldn't make it, went down and disappear. 2nd time he's caused trouble with one of those bugs.
I've had ones hanging off the cliff and wasn't sure what to do. So I just went for it and got it. Found that walking slowly thru town helps.

Huh, that's weird. I see scorpions all the time (I'm in the same boat as you, Slammint. I just can't seem to catch it. It either disappears or I get stung.) but tarantulas never spawn in my town for some reason.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey for a scorpion! c:

Thanks!!! I catch Tarantulars not that often, but I got them once.
