so just yesterday, i was trying to landscape this big area i have in my town and i had an idea what to do with it but the end result was far from what i expected. it was just bad and i was stressed out thinking whether i should plant bushes, flowers and tress around the PWP. i did that and it was still bad and i ended up demolishing the whole area and quit the game. anyone has any similar experience where the game was just stressful?

oh, can i just add that rocks are spawns of the devil and it literally does nothing but ruin the town and add more stress? god
This is why a lot of people have taken to hacking their towns now. I don't do it because I want to challenge myself, but at times I wish the design functions wouldn't be so restrictive.
I usually try to avoid that by just leaving things if I have no idea what would work out. The right idea will come eventually if I focus on other things. But yes, just as TheDuke55 said, I wish we had a few less restrictions when it came to landscaping.
Maybe the next mainline game will give us more options in that regard.
One thing that really helps is just going a little bit at a time and putting patterns to plan it out. I've had to change large areas to accommodate new villagers, and honestly just improvising with what was left of the mess actually gave me a more desired result.
If you're really unsure about it, save, landscape, then reset if you don't like it so you're not losing anything. Only work on it if you're really in the mood to as well!
I’ve had this problem literally so many times. Like the area in front of my house I’ve landscaped, demolished, landscaped demolished about 5 times and I’m still not happy with it. I wish there was an easier way to landscape because it’s stressful enough as it is, without having to go through the whole Isabel dialogue and placement rubbish each time.

Lol, funny you posted this. Yesterday I was landscaping in my newest town. I had a clear vision of what I was going to do. I plotted by the waterfall on a patch of land and was planning a shrub and flower path to my bridge. I had it ALL set-up in my mind and got to work. Long story short, after waaaay too much time spent digging holes, laying out positions and sweating over it, I realized it looked awful and nothing like what I had envisioned in my mind. So there I was. Back to the drawing board. Oh well.. but yes, I feel you.
Landscaping large areas can be very difficult and frustrating. I found that it's easier to break them into smaller sections. Also, place marker patterns are your friend. You can lay out where you want to put bushes, trees, and PWPs.
Check online to see how much room a PWP needs, then you can set markers and use that to get it situated where you want it. Flowers can go right against a structure, so that could help fill in the gaps that trees and bushes leave.
I agree with what everybody else is saying, if something isn’t working out don’t force yourself to complete it. Focus on something else then come back and try again. With landscaping it’s a lot of trial and error, I can completely relate to your frustration. I’m quite the perfectionist so I almost always have a vision for everything and when it doesn’t work out I either don’t play the game for a while and come back with a fresh new idea or get inspired by the stuff that’s on tumblr and then it motivates me to start working on my town again. If something doesn’t look right, you can always ask for advice here on how to make it look better and go from there. A lot of people on this forum and elsewhere have really nice towns and I see how frustrating it can be when you feel like everyone else has perfect landscaping but you.
