I need advice

I need some advice about what to do in this situation....I finally got a villager I disliked to move out...but the very next day (today) Sterling is in my campsite....and I only have 8 villagers at the moment, I really want him in my town but I apparently can't get him unless I have nine villagers. Is there anything I can do?

You are allowed to invite him in with less than nine I believe.

Yeah, I'm certain villagers from the campsite can move in whenever (not when there's 10 villagers though).

I've talked to him many times and he keeps saying he can't, I will keep trying.

Yeah you should be able to. Talk to him a lot. Some take longer than others. Eventually you'll get him to play a game to move in.

I think you can deffiniately get him to move in as long as you have less than 10 villagers currently in your town! What I did to get my desired camper to move in was by talking to them non-stop until they offered to play charades! Once you win it they will move in 100% saying they will live in your town and will park their house somewhere after a couple of days has passed (2?) : 3 good luck!

Just keep talking him and playing those games with him and eventually he will say that he would want to move to your town.

Sometimes it has taken me over 30 minutes to convince them.
So im sure he will. Just gotta keep trying.

Thank you so so much everyone! It had been a very long time already so I figured it wasn't ever going to happen but it finally did! Gotta love charades. heehee ^_^ I am so excited, thank you all for your speedy advice and support, I love this community. <3

Lol, I am so happy for you!! And yes, sometimes it can take FOREVER to wheedle and cajole a prima donna to move into your town from the campsite. But your patience paid off, so congrats!

Sometimes it just takes forever. It took me about an hour to get Deirdre to move into Tadfield, it was ridiculous. (Btw Sterling is my baby omgggggggggg)
