"I moved out" glitch, help

Hi guys, im new to these forums, so i don't really know how i do most of the stuff, but anyway, i was wondering if any of you guys came across this strange glitch where, you sell land for a future house, in my case for a random villager to move in, and then when the villager moves in, they basically never leave the house to go outside and never open the house either, so basically you never meet them, and when you try to enter the house it says everytime "i moved out" and like, i even tried to move their house to a hidden spot because it was basically useless but there wasnt the option to move specifically her house, but i can still report her, nothing happened tho even after reporting her alot of times, and like, i was wondering if any of you guys know a solution to this?

You can also fix this by using an amiibo (if you have one) to force out the glitched villager.

From what i read of this glitch the people who tried to force the villager out by amibo were unsuccessful and time traveling didn't seem to help either, although most people wanted to keep their villager if possible and didn't try the time traveling. Others who have this have reported it and are waiting for Nintendo to fix it.

actually, i did succeed in forcing out lily with an amiibo when her plot glitched in the same way this person is describing. for me, stuff like time traveling and complaining to isabelle didn't help, but i've heard other people did have success with it. it seems there's no clear way to fix it since a lot of people are getting varying results so i just really hope nintendo fixes it soon

When I tried forcing Pompom out (who also had the I've moved out glitch) with an Amiibo card villager it glitched my game even worse, so..
I've heard from some people that it went away on it's own. Other than that, you just gotta wait for Nintendo to fix it.
I just had a void villager move in from someone else's town today so I hope it doesn't bug out my game again. :/

Could someone explain to me what potentially causes this glitch?
Can you get it from a normal villager you recruit from an island or is it only applicable to adoptions so far?

It seems to have to do with kicking villagers out via amiibo and/or picking villagers up when they're in boxes on another island.

Scanning in your own amiibo and picking up islanders shouldnt be an issue. Just dont kick any villagers out or trade anyone and you should be okay until they fix it.

But what if I trade a natural villager with someone?
Could they also pick up this glitch from me (not an amiibo villager or a forced one)?

Not 100% sure but to be safe I wouldnt trade any villagers right now until the bug is fixed. People can always lie about how the villager is moving out just to get a sale.

Not 100% sure but to be safe I wouldnt trade any villagers right now until the bug is fixed. People can always lie about how the villager is moving out just to get a sale.

I wouldn't trade for another villager but I'd like to trade Wolfgang for some items and Nook tickets/bells.
I also have several other villagers I'm waiting to move out and would love to do giveaways for them (Apple, Hazel, Rowan, etc.) - but just worried to give others glitches.

I think kicking out a villager at all isn't safe rn. I wouldn't do it personally but it's up to you; just be aware of the risks.

Ahh okay. Well, I gave Hazel to a friend a couple of days ago (she moved out naturally) and their game is fine right now! So maybe if you just want to give away villagers as long as they're moving out naturally, it shouldn't glitch anyone's game. But that's from my experience. Do it at your own risk.

Honestly stop saying it here. Nintendo Support said they've had very few complaints about it, So contact them!!
