I Miss The Amiibo Collab Villagers

I miss Inkwell. I miss my BOY.

I tapped my amiibo and there was no compatibility, my man was confirmed DEAD and Sanrio was reduced to just posters, though I swore I saw the villagers in the villager list (before the game was released) that was leaked?? and the LOZ/Monster Hunter villagers were an interesting addition.

Does anyone else miss the collabs?

i finally got the sanrio cards for my birthday a few days after new horizons was released and i could barely use them ;-;

I don’t see the Sanrio ones returning. I’d say there would have been a chance if they hadn’t made the cards summon the posters that aren’t the characters. The Nintendo characters I can see returning, maybe with some friends.

Sanrio will most likely return but not for a while.
Sanrio posted some pictures online of some character ground designs made and they added the characters into PC long after the game came out.
Just give it a year or so and theyll be back

I hope they bring back the other amiibo characters too at some point not that I own any amiibo but ykno.

yes!!! I have Étoile’s card and rn she’s just going to waste because I’m not playing NL anytime soon... I love Nana (she’s normal like Etoile) but if the Sanrio villagers come back one day, best believe she’s getting kicked out lol

I do too. I sold my Sanrio set, though. I like collecting but found it silly to keep something I barely used when I could get a good chunk of change for it. I later bought a fan made Marty card because he was the only one I liked. I do want him to be a villager again. He’s luckily still in my NL town!

Inkwell is still in my town, i got an inkling squid card ages ago and i still have it for him. love dat guy

I miss my boy Felyne, he was my fave cat villager! I really hope they at least bring back the crossover ones, seeing as the Sanrio ones at least have some support lol. I'd even be okay with a poster of my boi at this point

I hope they all return, I want them all back but especially Etoile, Chai, Wolf Link and Epona I actually think the sanrio ones will because nintendo was able to get the okay to put the actual sanrio characters on the posters (which makes it weird to me that there are no nintendo posters but oh well), they‘re in pocket camp so it’d be strange to me if you could only get them in there and NL and not the newest game, and back before the game came out the villager list was datamined and they were all in the game with their own species code and everything—Etoile is shp14 right before Dom, for example.

tbh, i think all the sanrio ones are cute except rilla! i don’t like gorillas and hardly anyone does and idk if nintendo knew that at the time or not but i’ve always been disappointed that we didn’t get a cuter hello kitty villager... no offense to anyone who likes her lol. but yeah i actually like marty, chai, etoile, chelsea, and toby and most of the splatoon/zelda ones too! and yes, this is the list i mentioned where etoile is shown before dom:

you might also notice that the horse list jumps from the string hrs13 Julian to hrs16 Reneigh, as Filly and Epona are missing. the wolf list does the same, skipping where Wolf Link would be. i don’t know if that means anything at all but i just hope nintendo is planning to do some sort of promotion where they’ll bring back the villagers!

I have hope for the Sanrio since they made their way to PC as well. The other ones I have less hope for honestly. I would love for all of them to come back though maybe with their own cards since some of the figures you would use to get them aren't in production anymore.
