I wish I had Final Cut Studio... All I have is Final Cut Express. Final Cut Studio has so much more, but it's so expensive... ._.

its not that its slow its that its just slow. ive used my friends computer its a top of the time PC, it has like quad core/4gb of ram, good graphics card and everything, yet i had to sit there for 10 min, prerendering a stupid 1 min video clip just so i could play it back without lag, now on mac, it wont even play without prerendering. BUT when you go to prerender it doesnt time at all, its just about instant, and you get flawless playback, its freakin awesome.

It'd be cheaper to get a high end PC than a low end Mac. I got a comp with a quad core, 8 gb's of RAM, and a high quality graphics card for $700. There's no reason it would be faster or slower on a comp depending on it's OS. OS is mainly for interface, not performance.OS's so have some effect on performance, but it's very minute. Windows 7 only uses 500 mb of RAM to run.

It'd be cheaper, yes, but it wouldn't be a Mac. He wants to use Final Cut (and I don't blame him, it's the best video editing software out there), which is a Mac application only. Besides, with a Mac you get a great operating system and great hardware. You get what you pay for.

well idk if itd be any faster, sony vegas seems to operate slow on all computers, on top of that it still doesnt match up to final cut pro, they use macs and final cut pro for a reason in hollywood movies, they just operate all around faster, with the flawless playback and even very fast renders. i rendered a 45 min video i edited for school, in 10 min on the macds they have there, i did an 8 min video on my own computer and it rendered in 45 minutees. :| if i bought a computer with 8gb of ram itd probably be about the same price as a good macbook. ive only edited once on an older macbook but it seemed pretty good, i was able to handle over an hour of HD footage without and problems at all. in imovie, which imo sucks. but w/e.

You are very naive and know very little about computers if you think a PC is just as good for video editing as a Mac, even with less specs a Mac is much better at it.

This. Most everyone on here will agree with you that Windows main advantage over Macs is that they are a gaming platform. Whereas the Mac is mainly used by professionals for making movies, photography, etc.

But Macs can work just as well as Windows for gaming and work.

Tea is delicious.
It's even better when you brew it with the leaves instead of the grounded up crap in those stupid little bags.
Oh that's interesting, I've never actually tried it with leaves, don't think I've seen any tea leaves in the supermarket, I'm gonna have to try and find some and see how they taste.
