I just went to the wrong town... for the first time... and got booted :(

I did it a few days ago. I was waiting for someone to open their gates, and I forgot what their town was called, and there was only one town available to visit, so...I just, picked that one...I didn't realize until the train arrived that it was the wrong town. I felt so bad xD...

I did it once. I forgot to remove someone's friend code after a trade. I was trying to go to a friend's town and I accidentally clicked on the wrong name. I got kicked out right away because they didn't know who I was and they were in the middle of another trade. LOL. I wasn't upset, though, because I had planned to get right back on the train and leave. I deleted their friend code immediately after I was back in my own town and then went where I was supposed to.

I'm another slightly ditzy one who has done this
In my defence, and in yours, the town name and mayor is not always clearly relayed when trading ... I like to say "I will be coming as Mayor Penelope of Tubetown" ... Or "you will be coming to see Mustard of HotDoggy" , etc
I also try to ask in the trade thread for the name and town .... Because some REALLY don't match! Hahaha
Most players are totally understanding though
I only ever had one bad experience with an uninvited guest ... She came burning in when I was talking with my invited guest and started ripping up my rare flowers! I had to flip the switch ... It was funny afterward ... I was like WTH WTH!?!?
My legitimate player came back and all was well.

Haha ya it happens someone came to my town just yesterday by accident they looked lost.it was no big deal.when I first started out on the forums I didn't really know how it worked I traveled to a random town just to make friends,but I quickly realized it didn't work that way.they were not very nice and kicked me out too.

I have done this.. but luckily it was someone who I had met before and we had talked a bit. so when I arrived he was happy, then when I told him it was the wrong town he thought it was funny (thankfully)

I've never actually gone to the wrong town before, lol. I've had a few people come to my town by mistake though! Quite funny, just like "o.o hello" and them like "whoops!" lmao! IDK how it feels to have gone to the wrong town I always make sure I check the town before going, haha. I almost want to try to see what it would be live, joining a town that isn't expecting me but then I also can't bring myself to do that. Maybe one day it will just happen naturally to me, who knows, lol!

I've done that once, and apologized immediately then left the town but the person I accidentally visited was fine about it afterwards lol, mistakes happen, its human nature, no use crying over spilt milk.

I went to drop off flowers in someone's town once, and when I arrived, the person at the gate said, "hi! here to sell turnips?" so I quickly realized my mistake, apologized, and left immediately. They just thought it was funny, though.

I've done it a few times and have had quite a few do that to me, as well. It's no big deal, and people are usually pretty nice about it. I was horribly embarrassed the first time I did it.

Back in the early days of the game I had a guy on my friends list who would leave his town open to anyone who would want to come over even if he wasn't there or was asleep (how on earth he was so trusting is beyond me). Anyway, I was trying to get to a new friends town when I didn't realize that I had clicked on that other guy's town. They had similar names and I didn't remember what their mayor was called so I thought his was it lol the guy was afk as usual so I realized it was the wrong town and left a ♪ on his bulletin board and promptly left for the right stop xD

This has happened to me many times, both when visiting and being visited. People are usually nice and understanding about it, thankfully.

I haven't. Mainly because towns are usually open if there's a planned visit from what it seems. And I always double check just in case.

I never have, no. I have had people come to my town by mistake though, and it's always a little bit frighting. If I'm near the Train Station, then it's alright; but if I'm far away from it, then I definitely have to kick the person right away. You never know what they might be up to or stealing! Luckily, I was near the Train Station when these happened, so I just said "lol, no worries" and back out they went.

Someone has accidentally visited my town before, but not vice versa. Turned out I have the same town name as her sister. I just let her stay and look around my town. Afterwards she let me see her town. It was a fun night.
