I turned on my game and it was raining so I decided to try catch a Coelacanth. Somehow it only took 10 minutes of walking up and down the beach to find a huge fish shadow. Unfortunately I scared it off because I was too excited to think that it could be a Coelacanth :( Luckily I found another huge fish shadow a few minutes later, and ended up catching my first Coelacanth ever! Never thought it would be that easy! After years of playing multiple Animal Crossing games I'm so happy that I could catch it!
Just wanted to share this happy moment with everyone :)

wait they only show when raining? I should go fish, it's raining in my town jkhfgkldjhf

and GRATS!

THANK YOU haha :) Yeah they only show up while raining or snowing, but only between 4pm - 9am. SO annoying because recently it would be raining in my town but it would stop at 3.30pm so I would just miss out on being able to catch it.

4-9pm oof. It's 1:38 in my game. You saved me like, hours of work lol
How do you know when the rain stops?

I've just been unlucky :( Seems to always stop before the time to catch a Coelacanth but today it was raining at 7pm so I could finally try and catch one! Hopefully it keeps raining so that you can catch one too!

Dude I caught my first ever one too!

I think your post was a good luck charm

Ah, congratulations! You seem to have gotten some serious luck with those spawn times haha.
It always takes so long for the rarer fish to pop up for me when I'm looking for them.
I think New Leaf is the only game I've ever caught one myself, my memory leaves me so who knows.

Have you donated it or have you planned to display? :)
I've always enjoyed how that fish looked, certainly not everyday you seen a deep green/blue fish.

Spooky.
Congratulations to you too!

Did you do anything else with the fish as well other than donate it?

Holy fish sticks!

congrats (:

Thank you! (:

Oh wow that one is so cool, congrats! I’ll have to try for it now that I know it’s conditions.

Not to brag or anything, but honestly I had no idea that they were so rare and have caught a ton of them. This was before I knew about island beetles and mainly fished for my income... this was also when I played in June/July, so it rained a lot.

Congratulations! Well done!

Thank you very much haha :)

Congrats! Yeah Coelacanth can be hard to catch for some people and other people it's a cakewalk. Either way its a great accomplishment since its a pretty rare fish.
