I did not know you could grow trees and pushes directly on tiles directly attached to pavement until a few days ago. I feel dumb.

:(

I only figured this out fully a couple days ago myself xD So now I’m gonna work on outlining my plaza in hydrangeas :D

What!?!! Wow!?! I had no idea either. That is so cool and good to know. Thanks for sharing, my landscaping just got a whole lot better :) does that mean that I could grow a bush or tree in the middle of the pavement in main plaza or outside the train station, retail etc? Because that would be super cool. I guess there is one way to find out.

wait are you saying that you didn't know you could plant things next to patterns on the ground ? or on pavement from the town hall or re-tail or etc...

cause i knew from the start that you could plant things next to tiles because i just thought that tiles weren't actually objects so they weren't something that restricted planting

but i still don't know if you can plant things next to pavement lol

What Khaelis is saying is that you can grow trees and bushes directly next to the pavement surrounding Town Hall, the train station, Re-Tail, or the event plaza. You can't grow anything in the middle of the pavement without hacking, but they will grow on the first grass tile beside the pavement.

I've known this for a while, but I forgot how I learned it. I have bushes enclosing the pavement around Re-Tail and trees/bushes lining the pavement around the train station.

I found out about this a while ago when I just plant bushes and trees everywhere in hope that some
of them would grow (I wanted to try out a more messy looking forest-ish theme around that time).
I'm glad that you're able to plant stuff there, as it helped me a lot to make my landscaping looking
better while I worked on it.

Ah, ok. I thought I'd just learnt a cool trick to planting bushes directly next to homes. Thanks for the explanation.

I knew this for a little while too after seeing some dream towns with this idea. It's kinda neat that you can do this and surround your plaza with bushes and/or trees. It makes a lot of towns look very pretty.

Wait what? Seriously? Has this always been the case or is it just with the Welcome Amiibo update? I feel like I've tried to do this in the past and couldn't, so I just surrounded the area with QR paths and then bushes. I've been missing out on so much. ;_;

Oh lol~ Thanks for clearing that up! I already knew about that. It's a neat landscaping tip.

I only noticed this yesterday too when I was on pinterest and looking up inspiration for my town tree.
I tried it myself and it worked. ;3
I have cedars and yellow hibiscus bushes surrounding my pavement.

I had no idea too! Don't feel bag as most of us did not know too! Thanks for the cool info though!
