I hate plot resetting now.

That's pretty long. No wonder you were frustrated. But hey! At least now you got muffy in a good place. Congrats :^)

Didn't get her original. Her house is a mess! I'm going to have to fix it, probably with some gothic black rococo furniture

Basically, on a day when you know there is going to be a villager plot (not a house, just a plot saying '____ will be moving in soon' or whatever it says) create a new character. Do NOT load your mayor. The second you load your mayor the plot will be determined, even if you quit without saving, the plot will be in the same place. Once you create a new character, walk around and see if you like where the plot is. If you don't, save without quitting, and repeat until the plot is in a good spot. Once you find a good spot create the new characters house by talking to Isabelle and doing what she tells you to do. Save and quit. Then you can delete the unnecessary character.

You can also place PWPs in the days before you know they'll be moving in to speed up the process. Adoptions have a plot the next day. Campers have a plots anywhere from the next day to 5 days ahead, I think.

I hope I helped

Here's my guide on plot resetting

My new town is covered with yellow benches and fountains everywhere.. All temporary to block villagers plot in bad soots. I still spend 1~2 hours plot resetting tho. I'm trying to line up all houses straight so yeah im probably being too picky lol. So far I got my mayor's and 4 houses in a straight line C:

It's good to vent sometimes :) i also hate plot resetting. I tried it for a while but now that I have all four characters I can't do that resetting anymore. When I did do plot resetting it was such a tedious process and really annoying. I hope for future animal crossing games that they make it where you can choose where you want to have villagers move in. If we are the mayor then we should be able to decided where villagers move in our town. I don't like that they always move over my paths and trample my flowers and trees.

But if I save without quitting on the new character, won't the plot just stay in the same place? Also, I need to create a new character BEFORE I see the plot as mayor, right?

I only have my Mayor because I have no room in my town. And the room I do have is all planned out

Nope, it won't! I have no idea what the mechanics are behind it, but yeah, you can create a new character and save without quitting, then redo the process and it'll be somewhere totally different.

And yupp, you do have to create the new character BEFORE you start up the game as any of your other current characters, including non-mayor characters.

If you quit without saving on the new character, the plot will not stay in the same place; the plot will move because If you quit on the new character, the character never existed, so anything that happened that day never happened. If you load up your mayor the plot will be determined as soon as you load up the game because the mayor, and you can't move it. So, yes, you HAVE to create a new character, run around, see if you like where the plot is. If so, you talk to Isabelle, create a new house, then delete that character.

Thanks guys... That just seems really tedious to have to create a new character EVERY time you want to move the plot, but I'm definitely gonna try it

Creating the character isn't as tedious as you think. It's doing it for 2 hours that's tedious. Sometimes, though, it doesn't take that long. Some people have the in the place on the 4th try
