why are my villagers wearing ugly a** default shirts

whenever i get a request to send villagers gifts, 99% of the time they're clothes and they don't wear it, any tips?

Just change the default clothes to better looking ones. Mail them shirts and eventually they will wear one. I recently designed a few things for my villagers and they've been wearing them nonstop. Ken changed his shirt 3 times today from the slytherin shirt to the jinbei shirt to my suit design.

Change the designs in Ables to all umbrellas so there's no default shirts the villagers can wear anymore.
Also I find that if you send a villager 3-4 copies of the same shirt at once, the next day they'll usually be wearing the shirt. I get annoyed when they aren't wearing their proper shirts so I've done this a lot.
