I've made friends with a really lovely girl through the island, we exchanged FC's and she wanted to come over my town but before I could let her come over I picked up most of my hybrids just incase she stole any! I really hate how I can't trust people to come over my town >___<

Is anyone else the same? I just want to trust people on this game!

So many people have told horror stories of hybrids being stolen so I don't blame you at all. It's just protecting your stuff, nothing personal about her.

CT is risky. She could take your flowers and run, or she could be wonderful. You did the right thing by taking them into your closet. Leave one or two lower-level flowers by the train station to see if they disappear when she's gone, and if they are, delete her immediately.

I'd say that 99.9% of people are nice, it unfortunately is that other .01% that makes it hard to trust. Until you get to know the player and are comfortable with them being in your town, I see no reason why you shouldn't take precautions. Trust is built with time. There's a big difference being a person that trusts and a person that's naive.

i had a friend who would come over and just run about and kind of do whatever she pleased and i was too scared to say anything so whenever she would decide to go my 'internet would suddenly stop working' ;_;

I'm actually fairly lax with people coming into my town. I mean, sure, you can steal my fruit and take my flowers, but more will bloom, and you're just giving them extra room to grow a rare one. But I will, however, erase you if you come near my trees with an ax or a shovel towards a rock, or a hole in the ground.

I haven't let a single person in my town except for an old friend of mine and we were really close, so I knew she wouldn't take anything from me. Other than her, I won't let anyone in.

I know how you feel. I think that most people are trustworthy but unfortunately there's a small percentage of them who aren't and who ruin the fun for everyone, like mousehole said. I don't tend to be too strict but I do tend to be careful since I don't have as many bells or items as some people do. If I had more stuff I'd probably care a lot less if one of them was taken or if someone stole something minor that I could replace.

I had that problem before. A Portugese girl came and asked if I had any blue roses. We exchanged FCs, and she got the blue rose (and paid like I told her to do) but I followed her around when she wanted to explore my town, in case she took my perfect fruit, or tried to steal/destroy things, because she was the only person I haven't gotten to know before exchanging friend codes.

I never give my FC to CT people. I belong to a group that has rules posted.
I prefer to harvest my own perfect fruit and find it relaxing. I'll leave baskets of perfect fruit at the TS when I have visitors.

I was paranoid the first couple times I let someone over, but I didn't wanna follow them around so I guess I just eventually got over it. I don't have anything laying out that can't be replaced and the game is more fun for me if I'm not always worrying about what the people in my town are doing. :>

I have NEVER let anyone into my town. I think it would be okay, but I have that 3% of my brain saying, "But what if it's not?" In turn, I've only ever been to one person's town, to get some fruit, then they demanded my presence at ClubLOL, for some reason.

I'm usually letting only people I know or people from here to my town. I trust almost everyone, even I've heard lots of horrible things about people who stole their everything.. Idk, I don't seriously care if someone is lame enough to steal all my flowers and especially when a visitor starts to mess around, you can always turn off the connection

Once when I had a spiked turnip price in my second town, I opened my gate and let a lot of people in and when they were gone the hybrids were missing from my well by Retail. They were only there to sell their turnips and this is why I hardly let anyone into my main town and when I do I follow them around because it's full of special flowers. You almost need to be paranoid because of that 1% that seems to think "finders keepers".

I had a girl tell me she loved an item in my home, so I got it down for her to catalog but while I was inside retrieving the item she went home, I was like "oh thats weird" but didn't think anything of it, but when I left my house I saw all the hybrids by my train station were gone.. The item was a ruse and she used the time I was alone in my house to rip out my lovely hybrids and run away with them, now I never leave new people alone XD I stalk them around the map till we have done whatever is needed >.<

This all the way. I don't really care about losing hybrids or perfect fruit since I can just grow them again, but I will not be happy if anyone starts digging holes and cutting down my trees.

That's the price with online gaming unfortunately...especially for games that have items and currency and leveling up.




I'm never paranoid cause my town is less than a month old and I got nothing anyway hahahaha >
