In Palinoia I'm slowly going broke. I always forget or am too busy to going bug hunting. I would just transfer some bells from Sapphire to Palinoia since I don't play on Sapphire that much but I can't get back on until I can move in Cherry or else I'll screw up my town. So I'm on my own. *sigh* Anyways, I know we've all been broke in ACNL at one time or another. What weird, funny, or kinda lame things have you done for bells? Have you ever tried something stupid out of desperation for bells?

Erm... you never really need Bells in Animal Crossing, lol. You just won't progress with Public Works Projects and paying Tom. I just farm perfect fruit and do the daily money rock and fossils. :P

When I first started I sold a lot of seashells to get my first house loan paid off. I mean, I just want the biggest house, and all the public works projects *_*

Also I sold all the furniture Gracie gave me, back to retail. I was not a fan of it, and I needed the bells u_u

I jacked up my prices at Retail for my items for kicks one time. My villagers started buying them and then some of them would hand me back the same item and it became a cycle.

I know I don't 'need' it but I have a lot things I want to do. My town needs a lot of developing, plus I kinda want to expand and decorate my house.

I mean a large part of ACNL is the sheer joy of hoarding things, filling your catalogue, filling your ginormous cavernous house, stuffing your town full of obnoxious statues, y/y? :D

I held out for so long on the beetle game, and didn't time travel, and played "naturally" and now I am an evil time travelling beetle selling villager pushing mayor.

Selling every fruit on my town to retail and everything I found like seashell
and stuff like that

I haven't done anything weird to earn Bells. I've always fished, caught bugs, sold junk that villagers gave me, shook trees, hit the money rock, and sold ore and (extra) fossils. Look for threads where people have high turnip prices and sell in their town. The quickest way to get Bells, though, is to sell your TBT to someone.

In my first ever town, I didn't really know how everything worked, so I sold like every flower bunch in my town... And loads of fruit, too. I didn't have any flowers until I got the island unlocked and brought flowers from there.

And, oh my gosh, you have a lot of it. I might start doing that once I've bought the .gif avatar enabler.

Stripped my fruit trees bare, until there was absolutely nothing left of my town.

I'm starting to become broke too! I occasionally visit the island but it's not enough to accomodate for the bells I spend in one day or so. I would like to trade my btb for in game bells on the forums more though xc

Before I started buying bells here, twice a week, I would travel to the island three times a night. Each trip was approx 300 to 400k bells for 30 to 45 minutes work. That was about one two million a week. If I needed more, I went the times a night every night.

I was big on bug hunting at first. Now I just collect my fruit every few days to slowly pay off loans and PWPs. I do have some bells in reserve for when someone suggests a police station or when the Katrina PWP becomes available.

I think there was one point in the game where I really wanted an item and I was only a couple bells away from being able to afford it, so I went to re-tail and sold the shirt and shoes i'd been wearing
