It’s a Valentine’s Day collab running through February 16 and being sold in stores and online here in Japan. I got two separate items, one with a tin one with a pouch (the rectangular cardboard with 6 pieces), since I liked the packaging so much. Each were about USD25 (with how cheap the yen is now, which sadly I am paid in lol). The chocolate is really good as well! My favorite is the one with the logo on it which is salted caramel with milk chocolate coating.

This is the website with them: https://www.godiva.co.jp/doubutsunomori/

Sorry for self-promotion but I was able to do a taste test and describe the items in more detail like what each chocolate is in video if anyone’s interested:

Thanks for posting the in-depth review! I hate that most of these cute collaborations and merch are released in Japan only. It really makes me wish I lived there! Then again I'd be constantly broke trying to buy everything 😅

oh wow, i had no idea godiva was doing a collab with animal crossing! really wishing i lived in japan right now haha. those chocolates look delectable, but i don’t know if i’d be able to bring myself to eat them; they look too adorable to eat! 🥺 the pouch and tin are so cute as well! i’m obsessed.

will definitely try to remember to check out your taste-test video later! i’m curious about the flavours — though it’s godiva, so i bet they were all tasty!

I'm really happy I was able to share it with other fans!

I definitely had an internal struggle since the two items I got were expensive enough on their own and I was only buying them both for the packaging lol.

Although I will say since I moved here from the US before ACNH came out Target and some other stores have really been killing it with the collabs too! (Sorry I don't know if you live in the US or not)

The only reason why I was able to eat any of them was because I had doubled from buying the two! I ate everything in the pouch (cardboard) but I can't bring myself to eat the ones in the tin still... Yes! I'm looking forward to using the pouch.

You got that right! The ones with designs each had either milk chocolate, dark chocolate, coffee, or salted caramel filling with milk or dark chocolate coating, and the heart and the leaf were white chocolate!

These are so cute! I wouldn't even want to eat them lol. Japan always has the coolest stuff.

I too am a sucker for packaging :ROFLMAO: Yes, I am in the US and I believe Target still occasionally sells some really cute AC merch that isn't just notebooks and villager plushies but the merch is nowhere near as cute as the stuff Japan gets! Are you planning to buy a display for the chocolates? Like those sample displays that some stores have?

These are very cute, however I admit that I had to play a game of 'is it soap or chocolate' upon seeing just the picture.
Pleased to know I wouldn't have accidentally eaten soap if someone offered these to me in person.

Thanks for sharing the video as well for those of us that can't get these!

I considered trying to preserve them, but I looked into it and I think it’s be above my skill level! 😢 Plus it’s so humid here. I ended up eating them across yesterdays the day before and they were still just as good as before. They kept tempting me in the fridge so at least that’s not an issue now haha, but I was very sad to lose them.

What are the flavors of each chocolate?
In the tin, two of the animals are coffee filled, two milk chocolate, and two dark chocolate and each are either milk or dark chocolate coating. The logo was salted caramel and the two shapes are white chocolate!

Haha! The chocolate was delicious but I wouldn’t have minded them being soap since that would’ve meant I could keep them forever.

I always like sharing info on events/merch that fans would have difficulty accessing!

I saw that on a animal crossing discord channel earlier this morning. It looks cool, but honestly I couldn't justify buying a box of chocolates for that much. It's very cool for a collector item though!

By the way, how big are the chocolate bits in the one circle tin? Just asking cause you could store something like your Switch games inside or whatever if you wanted to.

It's a shame that these are exclusive to the Japanese market, as the packaging is indeed very cute and I'm interested in both the tin and the pouch since I could see getting good use out of both. Neat to see them regardless. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Oh wow! I didn't know about that. Yeah, Godiva is definitely pretty pricey... (esp with how cheap the yen is now) I had to really consider ifI was okay buying two of them for the packaging lol.

I'm not sure if this really helps but this is kind of a size comparison of the chocolates, and the slots were the same size in the tin (sorry for the IG screenshot). Actually, the chocolate slots are just in a flimsy plastic tray so I threw it away and now I have the whole tin to store things in! That would be an interesting place for game slots though. :lemon:

Agreed! I think they'd be a hit outside of Japan as well. I haven't decided exactly what I'll use each for yet but that was definitely what pushed me to get each. Glad I could share them with everyone!
