i got a golden rose before green mums?

honestly how rare are these green mums? the fact that they're also my native flowers.... what is this? to be fair, i was reading a wrong guide at first and thought you just need purple+purple, but apparently it had to be special purple from yellow+yellow, but even so, i still don't have them

does a golden watering can help?

I'm pretty sure it's just down to genetics. I don't believe the gold watering can has any special abilities this time around except making gold roses and watering 9 squares.

I think personally it's easier just buying 1 green mum and isolate it so it can duplicate than trying to make your own

Yeah I randomly had a green mum spawn while I TT'd a villager out, but they're really rare, and just down to genetics. I didn't have access to the golden watering can at that time so it was mostly luck. If you want more hybrids, I'd enlist some friends to help water your flowers, since that gives it a higher chance of spawning.

sigh. i think you're right for both points, saving usage of my gold watering can and just getting or buying a green mum from a friend or trading. i bought some blue roses early on and now i have an army of them. i bought it because i know i won't have patience for it, it's not always selling on my nooks as well compared to mums so i thought i'll get green mums easier. i was wrong. plenty of weeks later still no luck!

Blue roses were the bane of my existence too until I got 2 from a friend haha I'm doing the same for my green mums because I don't have patience either. All the power to the people who breed them naturally but I don't think it's for me, and flower breeding takes up way too much space on my island haha
