So I just got 50 medals today and I bought the Club Tortimer member thing! I've always heard stories about it so I wanted to join just for that lol... but when I got to the island I was with some other guy, not gonna say his name cause privacy

So I when I came he was like "oh" cause he didn't expect any visitors, and then he was like "you're so lucky" and I asked him why, he said it's because I have a Cinnamoroll jacket and he wanted one really bad. So first he offered 10 million bells for it, and I said no, and he used the Sad emotion to make me feel bad lmao but then I told him about Bell Tree Forums and how if he made an account to join, he could just ask for the jacket (I mean it's more complicated than that obviously lol) and he would have one himself. And then he said he wasn't allowed to do that... And then offered me 25 million bells.

after that I just used the go home button

---

idk now I feel kind of bad but like I don't want to have to buy another one just because I decided to be nice and give him mine

I used to go on Club Tortimer all the time. You got a new experience every time, and unlike most people, I found it fun. It's what I used before I realized friend codes were safe to use. Even after that, I still went on Club Tortimer often.

I don't really go on much anymore, because I've mostly lost the motivation to play ACNL.

When Kapp'n asked if I wanted to play with people all over the world or stay in my region, I just said stay in my region (North America) so I'm probably gonna have the same experiences lol

I kinda wish I didn't pick that option but oh well

Yeah, most of the time when I went on Club Tortimer, I would choose my region(which is also North America).

I had somebody ask for my tiny crown. Non. Stop. They started up a tour so I couldn't leave. My solution?
"Mom! I'm taking a walk!"
"Okay! Be safe!"

...

Hi Resetti :3 (I kept walking away from my house so the wifi would be all wonky and since me and my friend were having a contest to see who can play Animal Crossing longer, I didn't just shut it off)

that's so dumb, the go home button isn't available if someone starts up a tour?? Next time I go to club Tortimer I'm going to wear all bad clothing lol

I'm thinking about joining Club Tortimer, mainly for the items. I could care less about the other perks.

Always dress casual to go to the islands and if your tpc pic has any high dollar things showing, take another.
I usually get nice people but when I get people asking for bells and I always say I don't have extra (which I don't), and leave it at that.

You should join, it's actually a really nice thing, don't let the stories scare you off.
I usually go late a night or around 9am, there's not many people there then. (they're all is school, I guess)

The stories actually make me laugh. Almost always a funny story coming out of Club Tortimer. I want to see how crazy people can be. I was actually a member of Club Tortimer back when I first started playing and there was another person the island who glitched in and out about 10 times then disappeared.

thank you for the tip! I finally unlocked Club LOL so I'll have to retake my picture anyways so it doesn't look too boring

First rule of Club Tortimer: don't wear nice things!

Look poor, look basic and people won't beg for stuff.

one of the most persistent beggars that i met there was a girl wearing a royal crown, heh. i told her Just sell that crown if you need bells!!

fwiw, i havent noticed any difference in the frequency of encountering polite / rude people in the various regions, seems about the same...

I've mostly had nice experiences on club Tortimer because almost I never play with people from North America lol.
One memorable experience was one time I came to the island and there were 3 Japanese players, they were about to tour, but I went there to fish so I just said hi and walked to the entrance. Then a minute later all 3 of them followed me to the beach, asked if I want to tour with them. I can read Japanese but since the NA 3DS system doesn't have kana letters, I felt it'd be a chore to communicate so I politely declined, but they didn't take no for an answer and chased me around the beach as I clung onto my fishing rod until I gave in and went with them, it was really funny. We ended up having a lot of fun. Japanese players are very polite and tend to hoard a LOT of medals (by a lot I mean 1 to 2 thousands, dunno what they do with all that), none of that begging or hacking stuff.

BTW, you shouldn't feel bad. People shouldn't be begging.

Also, you shouldn't give your stuff away just to make other people happy. It's your stuff and you worked for it or bought it with your money. People don't want to work for or buy the stuff they want, then they don't deserve the stuff. Just saying. Might be harsh but it's true.

Oh the online island is a weird place. Mostly when I go on it its full of hackers or beggars :S Though at other times its alright.

I always feel bad because I basically only go to the Club Tortimer islands when I'm looking for a specific item, so if it's not there I leave immediately and I hate that any time someone comes or leaves it pretty much interrupts anyone else on the island who might be playing

Oh no, you shouldn’t feel bad at all. First of all, I actually doubt that he has 25 million bells. If he actually has that much bells, then he wouldn’t pay all of that just for the Pompompurin Jacket. That’s more of a price that you’d pay for two whole Sanrio sets. The most suspicious thing about him for me was that he was using the sad emoticon to get your sympathy, lol. The reason I’m saying this is because I’ve got tricked a lot in Club Tortimer. I'm actually not even bothered to change my Town Pass Card because I go to Club Tortimer very often, and I just can’t be bothered to change it every now and then. If you have somebody random asking for your Friend Code, then quickly a) say that you don’t know it and leave before they start giving you instructions or b) block them before they start begging and leave. The most scary thing to happen to you is the Tour glitch. I’ve read stories on the forums about people catching very rare sharks and filling their box with them, but being stopped by tour glitchers. Very annoying.
