I don't understand the appeal of Peppy designs

There are only 3 that are good in this game (Cece and Epona are not here. Even then Epona should have been Uchi). Peanut, Tammi, and Apple are the only Peppy designs that are any good.

I wish the Peppy villagers were less 'cutsy' and more 'cool' like the tomboyish Uchis. Now THOSE are a great designed set.

For me, a lot of those, Bon Bon in particular, I find kind of unsettling.

Actually Hippos are one of my favorite species in the game. I like all but two of them, while one is mediocre. (Bubbles is mediocre. Just wish she were a better color, and the two bad ones are Harry and Hippeux.

I LOVE the majority of the Peppy designs. I'm really into cutesy things so that's probably why.

My main favs being Bunnie, Cookie, Peanut, Bluebear, Dotty, Chrissy, Felicity, Ketchup, Maddie, Puddles, Rosie and Tangy.

Also gorillas. The only one I can tolerate is Violet, because she at least has a nice color palette.

I actually really like a lot of the peppy designs, whereas I don't really love many of the Uchi designs at all, despite my loving the personality Uchi. The only Uchi character I really love the design of is Agnes, which sucks because I think their dialogue is great.

All of this stuff is insanely subjective.

I feel you - I currently have Rosie in my town. I find her very bland and quite annoying. Always talking about how she’s going to be an A-list celebrity.
