I don't understand dreamies...

Everyone has their own interests. I am interestd in villagers, but no interest at all in landscaping. There was a time when all i wanted to do was complete the museum. And i tted like crazy to get that done. So yeah, thats whats cool aout the game. It evolves as your interest changes. :)

Agree.
I feel like even if you lose interest in one thing, there's always something else to become obsessed with.
There's ALWAYS something to do.

When a villagers runs up to you and wants to talk (people call this pinging) they might want to give you a gift, or tell you they are moving, or they may suggest a new public works project. If you haven't spoke to them in a while then they wont ping you until you do.I don't spend a lot of time with them, but I talk to each one everyday, and I always talk to them when they ping me.It only takes a few minutes each day to speak to them.If public works projects are not your thing, then it won't really matter if you ignore them. That's what I love about ac.You can play how you like.

Well, I just met you over in a thread talking about completionists. I think I get where you are coming from! That catalog was everything to me, and the villagers just grew on me as a means to get more items from them:) I looted them shamelessly and did favors to get their rewards. Savannah was the only villager I really wanted, because she was a friend I lost back in the Game Cube days. But when the catalog is finished, you have to move on. I've gone to villagers and hybrids, because interior design is so painful for me!

The villagers are a huge aspect of the game, and there's a lot that goes into obtaining dreamies, making friends with villagers, letting them move in and out, etc. Some people don't care about dreamies, like to go with the flow, so they let anyone move in and out and just take it easy. You don't have to do anything you don't want to, it's your game, so if you don't want to deal with that aspect of the game, it's understandable.

I do think it's unusual to not even talk to them though. I think that would be a big thing to miss out on. There are villagers that people don't like at first, but they keep talking to them, and they start loving them. It happens all the time. It's a weird thing that happens in the game where you actually bond with these pixels and feel like they are real. It's fun and it's interesting. I think you should give it a chance. You can still let them come and go, if you choose not to stress out about who's in your town, but if you do end up forming a friendship with someone, and want to keep them, that's fairly easy. You just have to talk to them everyday to make sure they don't leave. If they want to leave, they give you 5 days to talk them out of it (which is really just to say, no don't go).

If you decide you want a certain villager to move in to your town, then it gets a little more complicated, but since you're not interested in that, I think you should just try to make friends with whoever is there now.

If I cared about villagers, the interior of their houses would KILL me.
They are all so ugly. And I don't have the patience to redecorate them.
And their clothes... *shudders*
I pretty much hate all ACNL clothing, lol.

...so you turned ACNL into 'Gardening Simulator 2014'.

Everyone plays differently, but I'd be lying if I said that wasn't a little bizarre.

Lol. Well, when you put it that way... Yes.
But only momentarily. It's a good way to earn bells and breed countless hybrids.
