my favourite villager (lucky) moved out because i TTd too far ):
i dont even know how though, i guess i did the math wrong

d1 i heard a rumor that lucky was going to move out
i traveled 2 days because i thought itd be safe as he didnt ping me to move out
but apparently he moved out in between the day i heard the rumor and the day i moved out too...
i hope hes having fun in the void ;___;

what villager have you accidentally voided?

That's what happened to my Stinky. I heard a rumour the day before the fishing tourney but I forgot to stick around to see if he'd ping and I TT'd forward to the fishing tourney. Since no one pings during events, the next day Stinky was already in boxes T.T

Ah I forgot about Francine :c I had her and Chrissy and she suddenly moved out without asking. She's the reason I decided to restart my town.

ahh i'm so sorry about your loss :c
i accidentally got julian in boxes because i was time travelling, plus i didn't talk to my villagers so i didn't hear any rumors. (and when i did talk to them, they didn't mention anything.) i'm just happy a friend of mine was willing to hold him!
currently doing the 16 villager cycle - i still have a long way to go ; m ;

Villagers don't need to ping you in order to move out. The villager chosen to move out as well as when they do is set by the game before you know about it.

Something like this just happened to me this morning lol. The night before, I was trying to tt a streetpass villager out. One of the villagers I wanted to keep asked me to move, I said no, then I saved and went to bed.

The next morning, remembering that I just prevented someone from moving the last night, I decided to move ahead six days. In hindsight, this was a really risky move, but it's worked for me before without any problems, and plus, I wanted to get to winter a.s.a.p. so I could catch the last fish I needed lol. When I loaded my town Isabelle told me I was gone for a week, probably because I didn't take into account that the day reset while I was sleeping and then I added 6 more days on top of that. And when I looked at my town, where Merengue's house was, there was a big, black hole...

But there's still a little hope for her lol. I went out and bought a 3ds XL (was planning to, anyway, in preparation for the new smash bros.) and another copy of New Leaf. I'm hoping I can streetpass her into the second cartridge. That way, I can visit her whenever I want . It's sort of a harebrained scheme, but even if it doesn't work out, at least I'll have a second town to store some villagers in...

My villagers who are planning to move didn't ping me to move out on my mayor character on three separate occasions (Julian, Molly, Willow). However, they would ping my other characters who have lower friendship level. I was going day by day and knew they were planning to move out from gossip--but still it freaked me out when they didn't ping after I walked all around them.

Did this ever happen to anyone? Maybe friendship level is somehow related to if/when they ping you?
