I deleted my town on accident.

So... I thought I could test out new animal crossing maps by making a new town and not saving. Kinda how you can do in other games if you wanna mess around on the starting levels. Turns out you can't. After telling Isabelle that sounded cool, my town was erased. I fought back tears and am now slamming my head into a table.

In memory of your old town/villagers, make sure to have your new Mayor wear black. Do your best to make this next town even better.

I don't know if this might be of any help. But I remember getting one of those SwapNotes recently that told me that I could make backups of my save files. Maybe does could help you get your town back if you backed it up?

The backup data thing Nintendo added with their recent update doesn't work with ACNL, for some stupid reason.

Ehm, you can't be serious...
If it really happened that way it is all your fault. I mean how can a person not understand the clear meaning of "*YOUR TOWN* will be TOTALLY gone." Isabelle warns you like two hundred times, that everything will be deleted. I seriously don't get it...


PS: That's what I like about this game: if you are about to make a really important decision, the game makes sure you actually understand the consequences. (one might say it is fool-proof... well, apparently not completely...)
