'ELLO GUVNAH! What'd you be talkin' about? Spoonfull of sugar, tea, crumpets and all that. We Brits simply adore our whimsical accent, it reminds us of the 'unt!!!
Right there!

Best insight I've gotten on this whole thread!

He's not even English.

You are just getting mixed up with the lazy people and rounding them into the English.
Sure, there are some that do this "ah" thing you're talking about. However, there are people that talk correctly.
Further more, you don't seem to realise that eventhough England is small, it too has several different accents within it. So that too can go into your quaint ideal of how us Brits, as a whole, talk.

Lol

Then TV...and media...has done a terrible job of depicting the accents then. So you must mean, Andy, it's just like something like a New Joisy or southern accent here in America? Like only a small percentage of the people talk that way? Not 80% of the people you come across?

Of course the media does a bad job of showing how things really are.
There is a change depending on where it is you go.
But yes, much like America has it's differating accents, here does too. Much like there would be anywhere.

British people hear American accents as nasally and boring.
American accents are boring, unless you've got a dialect, like Redneck or New Joisy.

But then again, those can just be annoying.

But "Proper English", like I pointed out, would be pronounced that way. Then again, English did come from, no other than, the English.

Then where did the need for the unnecessary "a" shortening of "er" words come from?

Like "numba". It's obviously spelled number, er, urrr...

But I guess that's just propa English.
I happen to live in New Joisy!

Alright.

Still, none of this explains where the accent came from, which I don't really care about now. Topic is just useless rambling.

@you:

What the heck is that in your signature? I know it's off topic, but I've been wondering what the deal is with that cheap graphical presentation of some hardhat worker, being shown in several different videos, I've noticed. Saying stuff like: "nope", "yes", etc.

Looks like an old Nintendo 64 thing. It seems to be really popular on this site, though I don't know what it is or what the fad is all about.

he's the guy who wrote the mod, which is why it's called garry's mod. hurp.

gmod has nothing to do with the construction worker class, however it does have plenty to do with the demolitions person.

That actually looks pretty cool.

But it's not the same without the little typing and click search bar.
