Cyrano moved into my town last month and has not once asked to move, he planted him house in a horrible location I have followed almost every guide trying to get him out

does anyone have any tips because this is become super frustrating.

Talk to all villagers except him for a week day by day :(

that may be your mistake...

of course, pinging is random but the higher the friendship, the more likely they will ping you.

that means, the lower the friendship, the lesser the chance of them pinging.

dooo you know a better way? if so that would be really helpful

If you don't talk to a villager, they won't ping you.
This happened to me with Cheri awhile back using the method you are using, I TT'ed a years total and she never asked me to leave because I never talked to her.

While a higher friendship level does make them more likely to ping, it doesn't make them more (or less) likely to move out. There are no tricks to get specific villagers to move, it's completely random. The only way to get them out faster is by time traveling.

I use the '2 day method', but I should have a better way bookmarked somewhere.
that would be great if you do.

Also not a good idea to be inconsistent, since if you try to raise friendship with chatter, fulfilling requests, etc. on one week and then ignore for the next week, it bumps down the progress you made.

Lastly, wonder if you've seen this guide (there are several related posts, including one leading to a larger article, though the fourth and fifth posts may be of more interest to you): http://villagertrade.tumblr.com/tagged/how-to-make-villagers-move

nah, higher friendship does make them more likely to move out. ignoring never works. i TT 3 days at a time. but other than friendship levels, its all RNG.

What? No. I do the method where I introduce all my chars to the animal then ignore them for a week. They'll usually ping me to leave a few days or so after that week.

From what I read, ignoring works, but only if you do it from the get-go, rather than first choosing to talk to them when they move in, then ignoring them.

But then I also remember a video talking about how an alternate character can have a similar effect on a villager if you start logging in with that account and talk to all villagers except the one you want to move.

The ignoring method doesn't really work, but I understand why people do it. I use it as well, but just because the villagers I want to get rid of are so ugly that I REALLY don't want to talk with them.. But sometimes that might even work!! Few times I villager that I have ignored has wanted to move in like a week :D

I've TT'd to find out which villager is moving in the past and I messed up royally because I pretty new to that method and ended up losing a villager I loved... so all I really do now is run around my town in pretty much the same route/pattern every day, run in front of all the villagers I see outside, see if any of them ping me, if they don't ping me, I run back around the town and talk to each and every one of them at least 3 times and see if any of them mention that someone is leaving. If they DO mention that someone is leaving, then I'll usually grab my diving outfit and do the "diving trick" and come back looking for the villager and see if they ping me.

It's a slow method really, probably not ideal, but for me who messed up a previous attempt at another method, I don't want to risk messing up again, so I play it safe.

Ugh Cyrano... He moved into my town RIGHT in front of my bridge. He is the only villager I dislike immensely and I got so annoyed trying to TT him out. I'm not sure how completely random move outs are but once I got another Cranky villager to move in, Cyrano asked to leave. I think the system was trying to balance the personalities? That also happened with me and Beau when another lazy villager tried to move on. This method has worked for me: http://villagertrade.tumblr.com/post/72502318716/how-to-tt-those-annoying-villagers-and-get-the

Good luck on getting that anteater out!
