Yes...this is going to be another hybrid flower questions thread...sorry about that.
There is just a lot of info online and some contradict each other, and just left me confused...

I get the combinations from bidoofcrossing. And I think those are correct (at least, that's what a lot of people say)

Here's the part where I get confused. How do you plant your flowers? In what pattern?

What pattern should I plant?
I've seen these:

X=flower
O=Empty spot

XOXOXOX
OXOXOXO
XOXOXOX

--------------

XXOXXOXX
OOOOOOO

--------------

XXOXXOXXO
OOXOOXOOX

and so on and so on.

What's the best pattern? I have no clue ><

Where to plant Jacob ladders?
I've read that you can plant Jacob ladders near/next to your flowers to increase the chance of getting hybrids.
Again. Whats the pattern then?

XXJOXXJO
OOOOOOO

???

beautiful town ordinance
Is it true that when you have beautiful town ordinance, it's harder to breed hybrids?

Beautiful Ordinance makes easier to breed hybrids

The best pattern, for me, it's:

XOXOXOX
OXOXOXO
XOXOXOX

It worked for me.

You can plant jacob ladders wherever you want.

I plant my hybrids

XOXOXOXOX
OXOXOXOXO
XOXOXOXOX
OXOXOXOXO

Don't know about Jacobs ladders.

XXOXXOXX (3 connections)
OOOOOOO (0 connections)
This one is definitely inferior.
Just count how many connections you have between X's. The connections have the chances of breeding. Most of the time this will be
XOXOXOXO (7 connections)
OXOXOXOX (14 connections)
XOXOXOXO (7 connections)

Compare to this:
XXOXXOXX (7 connections)
OOXOOXOO (8 connections)
XXOXXOXX (7 connections)

Just replace O's with Jacobs Ladders. As long as there is a free space around every possible breeding pair to poop out a hybrid it's fine. AFAIK the programming first looks if parents can breed, then looks for a free space around it.

Does it matter how many rows you do? Like you "have to have" at least 4 rows in checkers pattern.
or something like that

The more rows the better, because the more chances you have of a hybrid breeding because of all of the connected flowers.

ok, ok. So how about that rumor that it's harder to breed a hybrid when you have beautiful town ordinance (which I have)?

ok, thank you all so much for your help! :) I'm going to try your tips.

You're welcome! Happy to help a fellow hybrid lover! I created the guide so that others could also experience the joy of spawning several new hybrids everyday. It is kind of like opening a pack of trading cards to see what's inside. Did you get a rare purple pansy? Or a more common pink rose? It is a new surprise everyday!

I think the mistake people make with beautiful town is not watering the flowers they want to multiply, and so it seems like it's hindering their hybrid growing.

haha you're totally right! xD

hmm, yeah that might be it

I always use the first pattern, and it works perfectly for me, also, never heard of the Jacob ladder trick

As for watering, make sure you water every day regardless to wether you have beautiful town ordinance or not, also even if it rains

I find that only watering the hybrids I want to breed that day maximised how many I get,
For example, I breed every type of hybrid in my town, if I went around watering ALL of the flowers I would maybe get about 2-3 flowers a day, If I only water Blue/Black Roses and maybe Purple Tulips then I can get around 6-7 flowers of the type that I watered per day.

I don't know if that is confirmed to help breed flowers faster but it has been certainly working for me :)
