Log into Club Nintendo and look for the promotion "Catch this Promotion" upon the welcoming screen. You will get the code after you select either X or Y, then you are given a code.
Now, on your 3DS, 3DS XL, or 2DS system, you are to go into eNintendo Shop, go to settings, then select promotion code. Put the code you got for either X or Y, then bam! You are ready to download.

As for the info being "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD" on TBT, this promotion JUST started on March 1st, and is going on for the whole month of March *Ending March 31st* You should be able to pick up your code by April 30th, and you HAVE to install the game by May 31st. So it's not old if there is time restrictions set up. More so for a game that was launched in October.

They don't mean old as in it already happened. They meant old as in almost everyone already knows about it.

Also, you get the code instantaneously once you meet the requirements. You don't have to wait until April. I got my copy of Y already.
