How do I gift a present to someone? I'm totally stumped. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question.

For a villager? You attach it to a letter! Have the letter pop-up open with a letter you wrote and just drag the item to it. It'll attach itself!
You can also do that with letters you received in order to open up space on your inventory, like an extra storage. And you can buy wrapping paper for your gifts in the Nook shop, if you want to wrap the gifts as well! (-:

oh sorry guys I should clarify that I meant on BTB forums! I need to send my pink present to a friend.

If the pink present you want to send was gifted to you, you can't send it to anyone else! You need to buy it yourself in order to gift it!
