OK, in my school's library, I read an issue, and it told that Internet will be shutdown in 5th May 2010, for 24 hours! And its happens on all over the globe!

If you are still skeptical, try searching for "5 Mai 2010". It's French, but I can't barely find a trustable English version (probably they haven't begun to spread the breaking news globally), so you'll have to use your French skills.

The reason for that worldwide Internet shutdown isn't for evil purpose. It's for security maintenance for many servers.

Well, in my opinion, I'll say it would be a nice opportunity to finish my homeworks and try to progress my Super Mario Galaxy save file. Not a real detractor for me, since it's only a day.

Thoughts?

EDIT: That information I gave you was fake, OK? Very fews sources and obvious trickery told alot about this liar.

To apologize that, here's my question.

How would you react if Internet was taken down?

OH GODZ THE WORLDS GONNA END!!!

Seriously though, it's just a day, so it'll be weird not being on the internet, but no biggie.

Okay that's a lie if I ever saw one. Too many major companies and places rely on the internet. Hospitals need the internet in order to send xrays and pull patient information, banks need it to keep the security systems up, they just want them to go down?...need I go on and mention more?

It's not going to happen.

I think someone in the issue lied.

I would, but my Wii's Internet Browser doesn't let me to copy/paste proof link. Just like I told, there's not enough trustable English source to consider as proof. Plus, the news originally came from the most recent issue of a certain magazine. Type "Science Junior" on the search motor, find the April 2010 look that image. You'll find a short statement that says "Internet ferm

There is NO way for them to shut the entire internet down, they make take down a few servers but there are back up servers, and back up servers for those as well...I'm calling bullcrap on this.

Even if this did happen, it's just for a day. It's not like anyone is going to die because of it.

I highly doubt it would happen, though.

Yes. This. Everything is based around the internet now a days, in one way or another, so what you're saying would equate to a worldwide shutdown of every service you could possibly think of, and crazy riot times. Seriously, use your brain.

I am almost positive this won't be happening. The internet is heavily relied on, so turning it off would be too big of an inconvenience for everyone.

Forgot to mention that Internet pirates can actually lead a requesting user to a fake site, instead of the true one by using its vulnerability. It involved DNS update. After the update, they would have harder time to mislead requesting users to a fake website.

I need to make sure what is actually a DNS, so I can confirm my above theory.
