Cyrano said he wanted to move so I said go and I time traveled to the day he was leaving. Is there a way to go to the day that a new villager is moving in (because I want to plot reset them) in without waiting a whole other day? I've been wondering this for so long.

do you mean like a random move-in? i don't think there's a definite amount of days it takes for a random to move in, i think it's within a certain range, like 4-7 days after the ninth villager moves out. i'm not 100% sure of that, though. you could always just start your game each day with a new save file, look all over the town for a plot, and if you find one, keep resetting! it'll be tedious, but at least you'll be able to plot reset them.

Yeah, a random move in because I like to plot reset for my dreamies instead of using a cycling town. Is there a way to do that in one day, instead of waiting a whole day to see if a new villager is going to move in?

You can change the 3DS clock time and load up a new player and see if someone is moving in, if someone isn;'t then change the 3DS clock a day forward

A random move in will have a chance of moving in during like 4-7 days and on each passing day them moving in is more likely, so what you could do is:

Change the 3DS clock 1 Forward (the 3ds clocks change of days registers and not the actual date)
Start a new char to check for plots
Make sure that there are NO PLOTS that day
Save
Change the 3DS clock 1 Forward...
Repeat till you're happy with how often there's a plot, since during the first few days the chance of there being a plot is rather low and a somewhat waste of time.

You could also check if anyones moving out by visiting their homes as a new character, since you might TT a 3-4 days to get the optimal spawning. Not necessary if you have so few villagers that they can't move out, but just to be safe.

I would still recommend lurking around on cycling threads since plot resetting for villagers to appear is a major pain. AC likes to throw a specific personality and a specific mix of villagers at you, so getting that one you want might prove difficult if the game doesn't want to cooperate with you. You also won't be able to be as picky with where your villager plots, since you might be lucky that they appeared in the first place.

Ah, okay thanks.
Yeah, I'm finally sorting out my internet so that I can now go to others towns.

If you're unsure as to when a villager is moving in, set your in-game clock for 5:58am. It'll still technically be the same day that you already loaded up your town. Then quickly save and quit. Wait 2 minutes.

Once you're sure that it's 6am, that means the new day has started, so a villager plot might be out there. So start a new save file and look around for the plot. If you can't find it, and you're 100% sure it isn't there yet, log in to your mayor. Do the same thing; Change the clock to 5:58am (which will again be the same day technically as you loaded up the town), save and quit, wait 2 minutes, then do the same thing with the new character.

It should work the first time, but sometimes it's the second day. I've never had a circumstance where I had to do this 3 times.

I did try that 4 times but I never got anything, but I think I will try it again incase I messed it up. I lost a few villagers while messing around with the clock :P
