I added someone from another forum and they keep coming to my island and WiFi bombing me.

and then when I reopen for my friends who were there, they join back and do it again. Like.. Jesus, read the room.

I know they don’t mean it but it’s very annoying and I want to I unadd them but of course their in game name doesn’t match up to anyone on my friends list.

is there a way to tell a persons Nintendo ID from in game character If they are on your friends list? I hope I explained well enough.

This isnt exactly the answer to your problem, but have you tried adding certain people as "best friends" and then only opening your gates to best friends? :O thataway they wouldnt be able to join if youre only friends through the switch friend codes

Are you using NookLink? Wouldn't it use their Nintendo name for the chat on the app instead of the ACNH one?

An easier way to control this would be to give the dodo code only to those that you want to play with. Best friends list may become a little cluttered depending on the person and how they play the game.

A little unrealistic unless there was a switch messenger app. A lot of friends arent best friended so in game messenging isn’t viable either. I like to just open and let people come and go very casually. I wish there was an easier way to match the friend code to the in game player. @Nintendo

I often talk with other players outside the game, using Telegram, Instagram or PMs here on the forum. Since the Switch inexplicably doesn't have a way to chat with other players, this is the only solution I found to make multiplayer sessions more bearable.

Go to your profile on your Switch, scroll down to the "Add Friend" section. Choose "Search for Users You Played With". Here it will list all the people you've interacted with, what game you interacted with them in, and what day/time you played with them. It doesn't list their in-game name, but it should help you narrow it down.
