How to successfully grow weeds?! Help :(

Hey everyone,
So I'm in the SH, and it's currently spring, but my weeds won't ever grow to another stage. I love weeds, but they're always on its first growing stage.

Here's a guide on weeds. In a nutshell, water helps weeds grow, but going from stage 2 to 3 is a somewhat low chance anyway. Also, if you have more than 150 weeds on your island, none of them will grow (or spread). So if you want to have a lot of weeds, you have to plan ahead and first plant all the ones that you want to grow to stage 3 (making sure that you never exceed 150 weeds) and have them all grow. Then if you want any weeds on stage 2, you have to plant those, wait until they grow (and again keeping in mind the 150 weed limit). And then if you want more weeds, they'll have to be planted last and have to stay at stage 1.
