How to stop stick spawning?

Does anyone know a trick to make sticks just stop falling? If I put a bunch on the ground somewhere on my island, would that work? Does there need to be a specific number laying on the ground for no new ones to spawn?

I think the number is 11? I'm not entirely sure, but after a certain amount, there won't be any other random ones that drop unless you shake them. So what I did was grabbed all the random ones and hide them behind the backside of a cliff ledge nearby where Redd visits. You would have to figure out where you would want to hide them. Same can be done with rocks and the fossils to.

Excellent! I'll try 11 and see how that works. I have a forest area so I'll throw them randomly as decoration lol.

It also works with the Fossils if you are fed up of seeing Fossils spawning and you just want to see Gyroid spots after it rains.

If I just wanted gyroids, how would I differentiate the fossil Xs vs gyrojd Xs? Cause the fossils are annoying lol

Well I will tell you this. There is a total of 6 fossils that can spawn on your island. 4 on the first day and 2 more on the 2nd day if you didn't dig them up. Just like the tree sticks just hide them in a secret spot and then the game will not spawn anymore fossils and you should see only gyroid "X" marks instead unless if it rained yesterday.

Edit: out of curiosity, is it just one gyroid a day? If I don't dig it up, it'll just stay there and no more will spawn until I dig it up right? I'm new to gyroids

About the sticks... You have to put them down individually. You can't just drop a stack of them.

Yeah its kinda dumb how that works but once all of them are drop done one by one they will not spawn in the next day as long as they are hidden.

Updating to say that the next day, only the sticks I had dropped in my forest remained. No new ones! Yippee!! Time to do the same with fossils.

I have a transparent design square that I just place all over the areas I do not want stuff to spawn. So all you can see is the lovely grass cause if you were to shake a tree the items will not fall on custom paths. Some people even had little cute flowers or mushrooms to their transparent design for more aesthetic.
