How To Plot, Camper, And Villager Reset

I know most of you probably already know how to do this but I wanted to make a thread just in case as I am currently plot resetting Ankha.

Plot Resetting:

1. Be sure you have 3 or less profiles on your copy of AC.

2. On a day a villager plot is scheduled to appear, whether you got them from the campsite or adopted them, make a new profile first thing.

3. Go through the basic questions from Rover (just type a random letter/number and then press A multiple times).

4. Once you arrive in town, search for the villager plot. If you like where it is, get a new home from Tom Nook and save the game. If not, exit out of the game and try again. Warning: You are most likely going to have to do this A LOT.



Camper Resetting:

1. Be sure you have 3 or less profiles and create a new one without logging into an existing profile.

2. Go through questions from Rover.

3. Once in town, check the campsite to see if anyone is there. If so, see who it is. If you like them, get a house and save. If not, or if there's no camper at all, exit out of the game and try again. Warning: Most of the time there won't be anyone camping, but it works, I swear. I got Whitney, Sprinkle, Beau, and Coco from this method.


Villager Resetting:

1. When you have 8 villagers, create a new profile first thing.

2. Go through questions from Rover.

3. Once in town, search for a villager plot. If there is one, see who it is. If you like them, get a new house and save. If not, or if there is no plot, exit out of the game and try again. Warning: This only works when you have 8 villagers. Also, it make take awhile after your 9th villager moves to get another plot to appear. Just villager reset every day until one appears.

The Villager Resetting works even if you only have your starting 5 villagers. You can do the reset trick the day after you start your new town to choose who your 6th, 7th and 8 villagers are. The only restriction is that you'll only get villagers of personality types you don't aready have.

Really? I didn't know that, but then again I haven't had 5 villagers for over 2 years XD. Thank you very much for the info!

You're welcome Of course, you have to do it one villager at a time and wait for one to move in before you do the next, but it's quite useful.

All of these tricks are frustrating and take lots of time and patience. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it XD

Yes it is quite frustrating, but having someone plop their house down right where you want to put a PWP or right in front of a bridge, ramp or your house is 10 times more frustrating imo.

Lose your save? No, creating a new profile and resetting doesn't affect your save data! I've done it many, many times and nothing bad has happened. It's safe, I promise

I've actually been needing a good (not super lengthy) guide on plot resetting, as I've never done it before but need to now that two of my dreamies have moved out c: Thanks for making this!

Not sure a guide is really needed for this, it's already simple enough. New save file > Check plot/campsite > Save if you like it or reset & repeat. lol

I suppose that's true, but some people like it written out so they can understand it easier.
