Is there a way that I can make sure cookie never moves?

I know there's amiibo cards, but is that the ONLY way?:(

somehow, on my first town on the gamecube, nobody ever left, I could stay off for years and come back and nobody left. for some reason that's the only town that's happened to though. maybe it was luck:(

I don't think amiibo cards are permanent. I think it just takes longer for amiibo villagers to leave. You just gotta keep tabs on that doggo.

My town is complete.. The only "permanent" villager (if no one else leaves) is Freckles because she was the last to move into my town. The last villager usually doesn't ping. However, if she's already in town I think then the only way to make her permanent is to move her in through amiib card :/ I also found Villagers with lower friendship statuses don't move out as quickly but we're usually friends with our favorite villagers :'D

Amiibo cards aren't permanent though, I've had mine ping ;;

They NEVER move.
It has been 5 months and only my 3 non amiibo's ever ping to move. In order too!
My 7 amiibo's never do.

I haven't nor will I ever be able to have a villager leave. I am stuck for life. Houses in horrid places, ruined my town.

NEVER use an amiibo card!

I now play the game without having any interaction with any villagers. I detest the sight of them.

I think you need to either reset your town or find a new game to play. Clearly you aren't happy with any aspect of this game and it probably doesn't help you at all. Resetting may not be as bad as you think. Only 5 months into a town isn't very long anyway. I really enjoy not having to worry about my favorite villagers leave without me knowing so some people really do like scanning in amiibos.

Good luck!

All of my villagers were scanned in, and all of them have pinged me about moving multiple times. Maybe in a mixed village of amiibo villagers and those that move in normally, the scans take longer, but I don't know

just make sure to keep track of your villagers, they'll never move unless you say goodbye or have something go wrong like a time travelling accident. amiibos and the your most recent villager are less likely to move but they're not immune to pinging you.

Five months might not be anything to you, but I've achieved a great deal in that time.

You don't even know me, or what my likes are.

I like many things about the game.
What I don't like, is putting my heart and soul into something, only to find I've been tricked by Nintendo, and am forced to be stuck with 7 villagers I've come to loathe, because Nintendo failed to tell us once an amiibo moves in - it's permanent.

There are a lot of people in the same boat as me, who have had their towns ruined by this, and either reset their towns, or gave up ACNL for good.

I have a valid grievance, and this IS an AC forum. Where else should I post it! :-/

I'm just calling it like I see it. I'm on this forum a lot and all I ever see from you are posts about how much you hate it and want to do things like throw the game against the wall or stick your stylus through your temple.. actual quotes made by you. Comments like that are pretty disturbing and I just feel if the game makes you that miserable it may be a good time to find a new hobby or try to appreciate the positive aspects about the game as you say you do. I know how it feels to restart after a long time and a ton of work put into a town. It can be very refreshing. 5 months from now you could be in an amiibo-less town and maybe feeling a lot happier about that game. This is an AC board where we post our greivences AND help each other find solutions. So maybe you might try listening to some of us who are just trying to help you feel happier with the game.

Maybe if you listened, you'd see that my negative comments are about non movable amiibo's in topics that usually relate directly to that.

Have a nice day.

There isn't a way. Amiibo cards aren't permanent in most cases either. Some people seem to have problems moving them out but others have confirmed that they were able to move out Amiibo card villagers.

I wish there was a way to make villagers permanent as well, I'm always worried that Bill is going to up and move when I don't play for a few days. I've had him since the start so he has pinged me plenty of times, and I think the best way to keep villagers is to have max friendship with them, but even then if you have a full town somebody is going to ping you. Good luck keeping yours though! It always makes me sad when people lose their favorite villagers.

With the gamecube thing, there was kind of a theory that your starters would be the villagers that'd stay forever. So the first starters that you got in game would be the ones that'd never leave, and the last few spots for other villagers to move in were the villagers that'd leave the quickest/alternate between. I believe amiibo cards is unfortunately the only way to make a villager permanent, unless somebody has found of that amiibo cards can move out too. (but apparently it's only if you have a town full of amiibo villagers from card only) Honestly though, with the new update the time period that a villagers will move out in is 7 days, so you have a lot of time until you have to prevent somebody from moving out.
