How to make a islander move out?

I am potentially getting an islander from another player but I need someone to leave first to make room. What are the methods of getting someone to move out and when they do how many days do I need to TT too so the house plot is empty?

The best way is to ignore them until you see a thought bubble. You can also replace them with a campsite visitor as well.

Should I be TT'ing for a week and not talk to them?

I ran into this problem recently. If you're willing to tt, go about 15 to 30 days into the future. If there's someone you want to leave with a thought bubble over their head, ask 'em. If it's someone you dont want to leave, tt back to the present, them go forward the same amount of days, and someone else might have it. Also, if you want the villager who has moved in most recently to leave, no dice. They won't. Be prepared to clean up after all the time travelling, it can mess with everything. I've only ever done it once, when I was desperate to get a certain villager.

I’ve found it easiest to TT 2 weeks ahead, then go day by day. Try to stay within 1-3pm as well as that’s when most villagers are outside their house! Ive found villagers bubbling to move out using that method in the past.
After you find a villager who will move out, but it’s not the one you want out, go forward day by day again until the bubble lands on the one you want to leave. Reminder that the latest villager to move in will never bubble. Hope it works!

No they need to be outside to have the bubble. You have to reload the game to try to get the villager to spawn outdoors and see if they have the bubble

If you’re not patient enough then you can do that. Just make sure to close the game is the one with the thought bubble is one who you don’t want to leave and thinks of leaving.

Can someone in the tent move out another resident?
For example: If ALICE is in my town, and APOLLO is in the tent, if I ask APOLLO to move in, will he take ALICE's spot?

How does that work?

@Tyconic it could happen although the villager in the tent will ask you to play a game with them and at the end, they will select a random resident and then ask you if you would be willing to move them out. What you could do is go up to the point where they pick the villager they want to kick out and if its somebody you want to keep, then close and reopen the game and rinse and repeat until they suggest the villager you want to move out.

The only danger is millions of weeds haha. TTing to 2021 didn’t work but like a user above said time travel 2 weeks from where u are in the game now and play everyday so walk around next to your villagers everyday till someone asks to leave that worked for me. I tt two weeks into the future and only has to play 4 days just walking around till a islander was like hey I want to leave.
