How to get The Town Development Permit faster?

Upgrade your tent to a house, go fish or get bugs and donate them, water flowers, weed, talk to villagers and try to do a request each, create a random town tune, and change the town flag. Donations should be the one that'll help the most right after upgrading to a house though so yeah.

You could also write on the bulletin board and send letters in bulk just in case you need that extra bit to get 100%. Good luck!
lol that reminds me, I just kept writing gibberish thinking that would help, but when I went back to town hall, it had only went up to 57%. (I had 55%)

Usually around 4 lines with the word friend or anything like that will make a villager like you more. It doesn't help as much as donating or gardening I don't think so that's kinda why.

You could always TT to the next day and find more fossils and write more letters and do other daily stuff until it reaches 100% to make the process even faster but idk if you'd wanna do that. Not that I'm telling you not to, I just know lots of people who would rather play it day by day. It can take up to 3 days though. It took me 2 days fortunately and I didn't even realize it. It just might take a day for some stuff to register I guess? Talk to Isabelle though, she'll tell you everything you need to do and she'll also give you a fruit to plant which should also help.

The way I got mine was just doing the normal stuff for 2 days. I got the permit the day after that.
Every day, I'd usually...
- Donate the daily fossils
- Talk to the villagers I'm going to keep (yes, I didn't have to talk to all of my villagers, just the 3 I wanted to keep of my starting 5. It'd probably be quicker if you befriended everyone, but this is just how I did it).
- Did a couple of favours for my villagers
- LOTS of fishing and bug catching. I'm addicted to filling my museum
- Wrote a few letters
A day after I got my permit, Tortimer visited me to tell me the island was opening the day after his visit. The speed of my house upgrades probably influenced that though.
