How to get the 2017 cake?

I wasn't able to play on the real New Year's, so I went back hoping to get the cake but Isabelle only gave me a glass of sparkling cider. Has anyone gotten the cake, and how did you do it?

I believe you either get it at New Years in the Japanese versions of the game or from Filly's RV. I've head both.

It was DLC for Japan only back at the beginning of the year.
